Jeff Jarrett has been part of the AEW family for a while now and he has certainly stolen the show whenever he was involved in a feud. This included a brutal match he had with Bryan Danielson on Dynamite last week and it appears he required several stitches after the match.

On the August 7 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jeff Jarrett and Bryan Danielson clashed in their first-ever singles match, an Anything Goes bout. The match was well-received, with many fans considering it some of Jarrett’s best work and saw Danielson pick up the win.

While speaking on the latest edition of his My World podcast, Jarrett talked about the aftermath of the match, noting that he only started feeling sore a couple of days later. He mentioned that by Friday and Saturday, he was experiencing significant soreness, particularly in his chin, which he attributed to the match’s physical demands.

“Today, [I’m feeling] much better. My partner Jay Lethal texts me on Saturday morning — so match on Wednesday, Thursday, it’s funny, just not being in that regular cadence of working twice a week or whatever it may be, it’s just kind of a whole different thing. I’m not gonna say my biological age has anything to do with it, I’m not going to speak that into existence. Thursday, I was fine. Friday morning, I woke up and I went okay, here’s the soreness, gotta work off through that. Saturday, I was still sore. Chin is now an issue, but I was pretty sore.”

Jarrett also explained that he needed five stitches on his chin after the bout. He described how a high knee strike from Danielson, combined with the chair falling to the mat, resulted in the injury. Despite the pain, Jarrett accepted it as part of the job.

“If you saw that finish when the American Dragon did his high knee with the steel folding metal chair, I took one on the chin. As he hit me, it wasn’t the initial impact, but as the chair fell to the floor, my chin caught it on the mat. All good, five stitches. It comes with the territory. It is what it is.”

Jeff Jarrett will always remain as one of the most important figures in AEW for multiple reasons and his performance against Danielson was proof of that. With that said, it remains to be seen what’s next for the Last Outlaw.
