AEW has experienced significant growth in just four years and continues to make waves with its upcoming events. AEW All In is shaping up to be the company’s biggest event to date. Recently, there have been discussions about featuring a prominent British indie talent in a match at All In, and this talent has confirmed having talks with AEW.
Michael Oku created a ton of excitement recently by posting a video compilation about a potential appearance at All In. As previously reported, there have been discussions regarding Michael Oku and Amira for both All In and the AEW Dynamite taping in Cardiff, Wales, on August 21.
Michael Oku, who gained attention by beating Will Ospreay in February before Ospreay joined AEW, has hinted at a future with AEW. Oku recently challenged MJF for the AEW American Championship at the Summer Sizzler event on August 11. After the match, Will Ospreay made a surprise return to confront MJF ahead of their All In London match.
In an interview with Stephanie Chase, Oku said he’s been talking with AEW about future opportunities. He mentioned that meeting Tony Khan and his recent matches have led to these discussions. AEW has been promoting his work, showing interest in what he could do next.
“I’m trying to find the right way to answer this. I think that’s the most I can confirm, is that there’s been contact made, which obviously makes sense. I wrestled Will earlier in the year in front of Tony Khan.
“I got to meet Tony Khan and have a conversation with him there at the venue as it happened. This match happens with MJF, they’ve posted my promo on their channels.
“They’re promoting this, so there’s been contact to allow these things to happen with AEW, so there’s been contact of what we can potentially do in the future. I’ll leave it there.”
Oku said he’d love to appear at AEW’s Wembley Stadium event. While he’d be thrilled to compete for a title there, he’s also excited about any role he could play in such a big event in the UK.
“Wembley Stadium. In my head, I was like, it would be cool if I won this title. They have a non-title, they don’t need the title, and I wrestle someone for the title at Wembley Stadium. But I would love to have a step-up from last year.
“It was cool to experience being around all the boys and girls in the back, to do something, to be involved and have some kind of role in the show, but I feel like I’ve made enough of a name of myself in this country that if a big show’s happening in this country and there’s enough of a crossover with the AEW fans, at least the UK fans, that there would be some interest to see me do something, if it’s small, but a wrestling capacity, as Michael Oku, as me the wrestler on the show.
“So hey, there’s a Casino Gauntlet as well. There could be surprises there, and I would be very happy if my music as well plays. That’ll be very cool if my music plays at Wembley Stadium.”
With All In already having ton of solid matches in store for fans, Michael Oku being part of the pay-per-view is certainly something that will make British fans happy, so we’ll have to see what AEW will have planned for the young British star.
