The Miz is definitely one of the most established and decorated WWE Superstars in the history of the company. In addition to winning several championships in the company, The Miz has seen great success outside the business while being one of the biggest heels in the promotion and he has more revealed the sole drawback of being a heel.

Throughout his WWE career, The Miz has mostly been a heel, with some periods as a babyface. Currently, he’s playing a babyface on RAW, where he teams with R-Truth. Despite their recent loss of the WWE Tag Titles, they are still working together.

While speaking on a recent interview with Cody Rhodes on his YouTube show, The Miz shared his enjoyment of being booed by fans. He mentioned that while he relishes playing a heel, the downside is that merchandise sales can be lower, which impacts contract negotiations. He likes being a bad guy but acknowledges that it’s a balancing act between making fans hate him and wanting them to buy his merchandise.

“I love being booed. It’s crazy that some people don’t like it. The only thing I don’t like is maybe my T-shirts don’t sell, right? My merchandise doesn’t sell, and that’s a big thing when you’re negotiating contracts and stuff. It’s like a big metric, and it’s like, well, I’m a bad guy. My job is to make them hate me so much that they don’t buy my T-shirts and stuff. But you want them to buy your T-shirts but can’t stand you, right? So, I mean, I like being a heel. I like being a bad guy.”

The Miz also noted that his current babyface role is due to R-Truth’s influence. He described R-Truth as a funny, charismatic, and entertaining performer who naturally makes those around him appear as babyfaces.

“But the only reason I am a babyface right now is because of R-Truth. R-Truth just makes anyone he’s around, like, the biggest babyface. Because he’s just funny, charismatic, entertaining, and just fun to be around.”

The Awesome Truth is currently feuding with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, so we will have to wait and now they feud will continue to progress in the coming weeks, as some fans wonder when The Miz will turn heel again.
