LA Knight is a standout star in WWE, with a successful career and a mix of fans and critics, including Kevin Nash. Recently, Nash talked about his current relationship with Knight after meeting him backstage at SummerSlam.
Last year, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash previously blasted LA Knight for being a ripoff of The Rock and Steve Austin. Nash even doubled down on his comments and had no intention of apologizing for what he had to say.
In response to Kevin Nash’s comments, LA Knight mentioned that he hasn’t had a direct conversation with Kevin Nash about their issues. He noted that he tried not to focus too much on the comments made but accused Nash of trying to take food off his table.
“No, but I’ve had conversations with his friends about it and they’ve all been like, ‘Ah, don’t listen to this stuff.’ Whatever. What am I going to do, worry about that? In a certain sense, there is one part of me that’s like, if this guy wants to take food off my table, that’s cool. It’s a piece of s*** move, but that’s cool. At the same time, why am I going to bother thinking too much about it?”
While speaking on the Kilq This podcast, Kevin Nash talked about his interaction with LA Knight at SummerSlam. Despite past comments from Knight about Nash “taking food off his table” and Nash’s remarks about Knight being a copy of The Rock and Steve Austin, Nash revealed that there’s no animosity between them.
Nash shared that he approached Knight backstage and asked if he was finally getting a significant push, to which Knight responded with a hint of ambiguity. They talked briefly about Knight’s experience working with Logan Paul, though Nash chose not to delve into details to avoid misinterpretation or any potential fallout.
“So LA Knight was sitting at the end of the table. I sat down at the table behind him, he turned around and I just said, ‘So, you finally getting to go over tonight?’ He goes, ‘Something like that.’ We talked and I asked, he was working with Logan Paul, I just asked how it was to work with Paul. Is he a natural, is he paint by numbers? He just gave me his opinion on how he handled the situation, not for me to explain on this show because I don’t want Logan Paul and his relationship to be verified or injured by comments that I make that I might have construed differently than it was meant to be said to me. He seemed like a really nice guy, there was no heat between us.”
Nash emphasized that there’s no lingering tension, noting that in wrestling, no one is out to intentionally harm others. He explained that while his comments might have been taken out of context by others, he’s more interested in contributing positively to the business rather than causing conflict. Nash expressed his desire for the company’s success and clarified that he isn’t trying to provoke anyone.
“No. No, at that point, nobody is f**king trying to hurt anybody in this business. I wasn’t trying to take food off his table. Other people have mocked my words to him in promos on their television. I’d rather be the guy being talked about than the guy not being talked about, that’s just the way I look at it. If I’m talking about you, cause I can talk about anybody I want in wrestling. There’s a bunch of dead guys I can talk sh*t about that could never rebuttal any of that. But, to me, this new breed of guys, I’m not trying to p*ss anyone off. I want the company to excel.”
Konnan previously came to LA Knight’s defense after Kevin Nash’s comments. Nonetheless, it is good to know that there is no heat between LA Knight and Kevin Nash, and that’s all that matters.
