Scrypts, who first gained attention with mysterious promos teasing his character’s debut, joined WWE’s NXT brand but didn’t have the impact expected. He eventually left WWE and has now made his debut at the latest ROH tapings.

As previously reported, the former Reggie was set to part ways with WWE when his contract expired at the beginning of June and Scrypts would confirm the same shortly afterwards. Since then, he has been active in the independent circuit.

Ring of Honor held its latest television tapings on August 11th at the eSports Arena in Arlington, TX. During these tapings, former WWE Superstar Scrypts, now known as Sidney Akeem, made his debut as he faced off against Johnny TV in singles competition.

Sidney Akeem is clearly making strides in the world of professional wrestling since his WWE release, so we will have to wait and see whether he will end up signing with Tony Khan’s company somewhere down the line as well.
