AEW has signed many former WWE Superstars, but World Wrestling Entertainment has also taken a few performers from AEW, though that number is smaller. Superstars like Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Ethan Page, and Shawn Spears have joined WWE after their AEW runs ended, and there is a rumor that Ricky Starks may be next.

Ricky Starks is expected to sign with WWE once his AEW contract expires, which is believed to be this year. He certainly has friends in WWE who would love to have him around.

The Absolute One has been with AEW since 2020 and is a former AEW tag team champion, FTW Champion, and Owen Hart Memorial tournament winner. However, he has been absent from AEW programming for the last several months. If he leaves, the Lucha Bros may be coming too. In his place, AEW may be getting Bobby Lashley, Ricochet, and MVP, as those three are set to hit the free agency market very soon.

Jade Cargill added more fuel to the fire that Ricky Starks may be WWE-bound. She logged onto Instagram after having dinner with the Starkman, and it appeared they were celebrating something. The caption for the story featuring Ricky only said “cheers.”

Ricky Starks and Cody Rhodes are still close friends. Starks was even with Cody during the Royal Rumble a couple of years ago, but he hasn’t been seen at a WWE event since. That certainly drummed up a lot of controversy and rumors about Absolute Ricky Starks making his way to WWE to follow the American Nightmare.

We will keep a close eye on Ricky Starks because he may be perfect for WWE. He hasn’t been around AEW in a while, which adds more weight to the rumors about his current contract status. If anything, Cody Rhodes would certainly welcome his friend on the roster in a big way.
