At the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, Canada, John Cena announced his upcoming retirement from professional wrestling. While his farewell tour won’t start until next year, a top WWE star has made it clear he wants a piece of the 16-time World Champion.
In his announcement, John Cena revealed that he will be involved in RAW’s transition to Netflix. He also shared that his final wrestling appearances will include the Royal Rumble, the Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025. Rather than a single retirement match, Cena will undertake a farewell tour in 2025, covering 100 dates. His in-ring career is set to conclude in December 2025.
While speaking to the Buffalo Bills, Seth Rollins was asked to share his expectations for John Cena’s upcoming retirement tour. Seth Rollins stated that 2025 will be special for Cena. Rollins expects Cena, known for his larger-than-life personality and grand gestures, will make his final year in WWE memorable. Rollins is excited to see what Cena will do and hopes to have one more match with him before Cena retires.
“If I know John as well as I think I do, this next year, it sounds like it’s gonna be 2025; it’s gonna be a special, special year for John Cena. He is not the type to do things small. He is not the type to be understated. If you’ve seen anything John’s ever done in WWE, or if you’ve watched any of his movies, for example, you know that John is larger than life, and he has a big personality, and I imagine he will wanna have his last year be his best year. I am looking forward to seeing what John brings to the table next year. It’s going to be a great time and hope I can get back in the ring with him at least one more time before he hangs it up.”
We have also reported that WWE is already considering opponents for John Cena and he also wants to compete in the UK next year. It remains to be seen how Cena’s retirement tour will turn out, as fans would love to see another match with John Cena and Seth Rollins.
