Roman Reigns made an unexpected comeback at SummerSlam, going after Solo Sikoa instead of Cody Rhodes. When he returned on SmackDown this week, he took out The Bloodline, and his appearance quickly became a hit on YouTube.
On the August 9, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown, Solo Sikoa found out that Roman Reigns wasn’t at the arena. Undeterred, Solo said Reigns would show up eventually and took the microphone to demand that the WWE fans acknowledge him. The crowd wasn’t very excited. Solo then challenged Roman, claiming to be the new Tribal Chief and daring Reigns to come and take the title from him.
Roman Reigns accepted the challenge and entered the ring to face Solo and the new Bloodline. He first dealt with Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa before focusing on Solo Sikoa.
As fans chanted “OTC” for the Original Tribal Chief, Reigns and Solo fought fiercely. Reigns hit Solo with a Superman Punch, but before he could follow up with a spear, Solo was pulled out of the ring. Tama and Tanga tried to attack Roman, but he quickly turned things around. Reigns speared Tanga Loa and then drove Tama Tonga through the barricade, making a big impact in his return.
The show ended with Solo Sikoa taunting Roman Reigns from the entrance ramp, leaving Reigns in the ring. After the show went off the air, Reigns enjoyed the crowd’s positive reaction and raised his signature ‘One’ hand gesture to show that he was back for good.
Fans were clearly happy to see Roman Reigns back as his return on WWE’s official YouTube channel had crossed 1 million viewers in six hours and now at the eight-hour mark, the video currently has 1,440,906 views, which goes to show The Tribal Chief remains a huge draw.
Roman Reigns has already been advertised for the August 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, so it remains to be seen whether he will make Solo Sikoa yield after his dominant display on this week’s SmackDown.
