WWE has seen a few contract situations over the past few months. While they signed some stars to new deals like Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Chad Gable, and LA Knight, others have left as their contracts expired. This leaves Ricochet in an interesting situation, and AEW fans are now waiting for his debut for the company as a result.
Ricochet lit up the pro wrestling world before arriving in WWE, and he had many matches with people who are currently on the AEW roster. It appears that fans won’t have to wait long to see what he can do in AEW. Although there hasn’t been any definite word about his debut, it seems imminent.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Ricochet is now a free agent. He could make his debut for AEW at any show at this point. It seems to be only a matter of time.
“I don’t know when he’s coming in. Maybe it’s Wembley. I believe Ricochet’s contract expired in July, so he’s free. He could debut any week now, but we haven’t heard his name mentioned.”
Ricochet had an impressive career in WWE, achieving numerous accolades across different championships and tournaments. He captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship once and also claimed the WWE United States Championship. In NXT, he won the NXT North American Championship as well.
In more recent memory, he became the inaugural WWE Speed Champion, marking his place in WWE history. Andrade took that title off him just before he departed from the company, and El Idolo is still holding that title. We will have to see what AEW may have in store for Ricochet, but it may be only a matter of waiting for the perfect moment to see his debut go down.
