AEW has signed many people from the pro wrestling world who needed an opportunity. There are always interesting contract situations going on, just like Daniel Garcia and more. “The Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith made a name for himself on the indie scene before AEW picked him up, but this happened after WWE turned him down.

Although AEW has signed some people WWE had shown interest in, such as Tommy Billington, this isn’t the case for everyone Tony Khan signs. Sometimes he picks up talent that other companies have completely overlooked.

In an interview with Talk is Jericho, Bryan Keith revealed that he watched WWE a lot growing up, but they never showed interest in hiring him. Before this, he wrestled for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling. Keith is currently signed to AEW.

“No, nothing. I’ve been at Booker’s for a long time. I did extra work and things like that, but nothing like, ‘Hey, come in and we’ll take a look at you and things like that.’ I watched WWE all the time as a kid. I’m a WWF kid, I never even watched WCW growing up. But I feel like whenever I got older, I gravitated towards the Japanese style of professional wrestling, so in my head, I literally wanted to go to Japan. WWE or TNA and all these other places, it wasn’t the goal. I’d work for them. At the time, if they were giving it, I was gonna see what’s up. But in my head, I was like, ‘Japan, japan, Japan.’ I remember my parents being like, ‘How? How the hell do you think you’re gonna get on the other side of the world and do that?’ Actually, at the beginning of this year, I went for the first time for two weeks. DDT brought me out, and I wrestled out there.“

Bryan Keith joined Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree stable as one of his main branches. He faked an injury for a while to surprise his opponents and help Jericho with his continued mission of destruction. This is the beginning of his AEW story, but he never had one with WWE for the reason mentioned above.

We will keep an eye on Bryan Keith. He has a lot of attention from the AEW fan base. Only time will tell if WWE ever changes their mind about him, but he is doing everything he can to make a difference in AEW.
