It’s Saturday night and you know what that means! AEW Collision will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the August 10, 2024 episode.

The show opens up with Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness welcoming us. We then get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is a Tag Team Match.
The match starts off with Woods and Hologram. Woods looks for the upper hand, but Hologram evades Woods. Woods then sends Hologram to the corner and tags Nese in. Nese then delivers a right hand on Hologram’s midsection. Hologram then hits a headscissors on Nese, then tags Darby in. Darby then goes for a pin, but Woods stops the count. Darby then hits Nese with a crossbody, then gets a couple of near falls. Woods is then tagged in and he sends Darby into the corner. Woods then sends Darby to the canvas, then to the outside. Woods then takes him down, but only gets a near fall before tagging Nese back in. Nese then hits a body slam and tags Woods back in. Darby then puts Woods in a cradle for a two count. Darby then looks for the tag, but Woods knocks Hologram off the apron as Nese grabs him to keep on the attack. This then continues until Allin evades Nese for a tag to Hologram. Hologram then takes both Nese and Woods down with an airplane spin. Hologram then hits a headscissors on Woods, then follows it up with a running knee for a two count. Hologram then starts fighting back and gets hits with a knee strike by Woods. Nese and Woods then double-team Hologram for a close near fall before Darby breaks it up, but they quickly get back on the attack with a double-team on Allin. Nese is then sent out of the ring by Hologram and Hologram gets the win with a pinning combination.

We then get a video package narrated by Dustin Rhodes about Texas Bull Rope matches. Rhodes says his father put bull rope on his wrist in 1978 and set the standard for brutality. Rhodes then says he’s been in bull rope matches and you don’t agree to be in one unless you’re prepared to put your body through hell and drag your opponent. Rhodes then says Thunder Rosa embodies the Texas spirit and Deonna Purrazzo is a ruthless mastermind. Rhodes then says Arlington ain’t gonna be the same after this.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Texas Bull Rope Match.
The match starts off with Rosa sending Purrazzo to the floor and into the stairs. Rosa then hits a backstabber on Purrazzo, but Purrazzo cuts Rosa off on the ropes. Both women then get into a tug of war around the ring post and Purrazzo pulls Rosa into the post. Purrazzo then follows it up with shot using the cowbell to cut Rosa open. Rosa then pulls Purrazzo from the ropes and sends her onto a few chairs that were in the middle of the ring. Rosa then pins Purrazzo for a two count. Rosa then wedges a chair in between the ropes and sends Purrazzo’s head into it. Rosa then dropkicks a chair into the face of Purrazzo in the corner. Rosa then covers Purrazzo, but only gets a two count. Rosa then goes up top, but was cut off. Purrazzo then hangs Rosa in a tree of woe and then nails a chair into her abdomen several times. Purrazzo then spears Rosa and Rosa falls from the ropes and gets covered for a two count. Purrazzo then places a table against the corner, but Rosa fights out of being sent into it. Purrazzo then hits Rosa with a powerbomb, then follows it up with a and goes for a pin, but only gets a two count. Purrazzo then moves the table off the corner, setting Rosa up on it before climbing the turnbuckle, but Rosa hits her with a cow bell to the face and follows it up with a bulldog through the table. Rosa then hits Purrazzo with a shoulder breaker for the win.

We then get a video package on The Outrunners.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Tag Team Match.
The match starts off with Harwood and Floyd and Harwood takes Floyd down only for Magnum to show off with a pose. Cash then tags in with a pose of his own before they lock up and Magnum hits the ropes, where he takes Wheeler down with a shoulder tackle. Exchange of holds then leads to Cash getting a couple of shoulder tackles, but Magnum fights off and tag in Truth Floyd. Floyd then fights out of Wheeler’s grip for the tag and and both men wear Wheeler down enough for Magnum to get a near fall. Harwood is then tagged in as FTR takes Turbo down, allowing Dax to get a two count. Floyd then tries to intervene, but this leads to all four men going at it before FTR sends the Outrunners out of the ring. Floyd then gets the tag as he goes after Wheeler, sending him to the corner. Magnum then delivers a shot on Cash and Cash gets dropped again by Truth. Cash then manages to fight back, sending the Outrunners away so he can get a tag to Harwood who goes on a flurry of offense. Harwood then hits a lariat on Magnum followed by a series of German suplexes on Floyd. Dax then hits him with a piledriver, then follows it up with a Shatter Machine on Turbo for the win.

After the match, FTR celebrates at ringside and we get a graphic confirming an AEW World Tag Team Championship Match between The Acclaimed and The Young Bucks on Dynamite.
We then head to the back, where Kip Sabian is being interviewed by Lexy Nair. Nair asks Sabian about his recent issues with Nick Wayne. Wayne shows up and brags about being the youngest champion in AEW history. Wayne then challenges Sabian to a match on Rampage, promising to make Sabian a loser like his dead father.
We then get a video package on AEW American Champion MJF, where he talks more smack after his win over Kyle Fletcher. MJF has his eyes set on destroying Will Ospreay at All In. MJF also says he will be facing another one of Ospreay’s friends in Michael Oku at a Revolution Pro Wrestling event in London on August 11th. MJF then says he will hit Oku with the Tiger Driver and break his neck. We then hear from Ospreay and Fletcher, with Fletcher saying that if anyone deserves to get hit with the Tiger Driver it’s MJF.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.
The match starts off with both men exchanging some words before RUSH gets the upper hand, but Vance fights back and sends RUSH to the outside. RUSH then continues laying into Preston until the referee intervenes, forcing RUSH to back off before he goes right back after Vance, sending him into the ring. This then leads to a trade of strikes before RUSH hits the ropes only to be taken down with a spear that gets Vance a near fall. Preston then sends RUSH to the corner before charging at him, only for RUSH to evade the move. RUSH then nails Vance with some boots to the face and midsection before setting up for his finisher. RUSH then hits Vance with The Horns for the win.

After the match, we see Don Callis watching the action from backstage as RUSH leaves the ring. RUSH then returns to the ring and hits The Horns on Vance once more. Officials then rush in to stop RUSH from doing any more damage and RUSH finally leaves.
We then get a video of AEW TNT Champion Jack Perry, where it is being shown that he is watching a bunch of small monitors. He then grabs an ax and destroys the screens. A single screen is then shows with the words “Scapegoat” on it.
AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Swerve speaks about his AEW World Championship Match with Bryan Danielson at All In. Swerve says he is having a warm up match, then he passes the mic to Prince Nana. Nana says the person that will come out will be going against the most dangerous man in AEW. The Conglomeration’s “The Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii then makes his way down to the ring.
The match starts off with Strickland and Ishii going back-and-forth before Strickland hits Ishii with a body shot and an outside-in dropkick. Ishii then hits Strickland with a forearm, but Strickland comes back with one of his own. Strickland then hits Ishii with a dropkick to the knee, then follows it up with forearms. Strickland then hits Ishii with an uppercut to the back that sends Ishii to the floor. Strickland then hits Ishii with a Fosbury Flop on the outside. Ishii then fights back, but is taken down by Strickland. Both men are then back on their feet as they exchange strikes. Ishii then hits a delayed superplex on Strickland, but it only gets a two count. Ishii then hits the ropes, but Strickland stops it by hitting some kicks on Ishii. Ishii then fights out of the grasp of Strickland, but Strickland takes Tomohiro down for another two count. Ishii then evades a House Call and hits the ropes for a lariat and a cover, but Swerve kicks out. Strickland then escapes a brainbuster attempt from Ishii and hits Ishii with a running Swerve Stomp. Swerve then hits Ishii with a House Call for the win.

After the match, Swerve celebrates his win and we are reminded that Strickland is in action again this Wednesday on Dynamite when he faces Wheeler Yuta. Strickland then talks down on Bryan Danielson off-mic, insisting he will run through the junior member of the BCC.
We then head to the back, where Claudio Castagnoli talks about facing “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada for the Continental Championship when Dynamite heads to Cardiff, Wales ahead of All In.
Stokely Hathaway then introduces Kris Statlander as both of them make their way down to the ring. We then see what Willow Nightingale said last night on Rampage before talking to Tomohiro Ishii. Lexy Nair then announces a tag team match for All In: Zero Hour and Stokely cuts her off, promising to go to the Bronx to find Kris a partner. Nair then reveals that the match is already official, where Willow Nightingale and Tomohiro will face Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway. Stokely then refuses, but Statlander accepts the match much to the dismay of Hathaway. Statlander and Hathaway then leave the ring.
We then head to the back, where Top Flight, Action Andretti and Leila Grey are being interviewed by Lexy Nair. Nair says MxM Collection had asked for this interview, but couldn’t be found anywhere. Grey then points at them kneeling beneath the camera before MxM stands up. They then apologize for not mocking their haircuts. Top Flight then challenges them to a match tonight as they were all in their rin gear, but Mansoor had broken a nail and wasn’t cosmetically cleared. Lio Rush then shows up to relay a message from Tony Khan that the match is booked for next week.
Hikaru Shida then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Aleah James is already in the ring.
The match starts off with Shida hitting some strikes, then following it up with a Falcon Arrow for the win.

We then see a sit-down interview between Jim Ross and Bryan Danielson. Danielson recalls Ross signing him 24 years ago. Danielson says it was mind blowing to see a contract he signed with Ross’ signature next to it. Ross then asks Danielson about his body. Danielson says he thinks of his neck and concussions. Danielson then says he also thinks of all the ways his body has served him well. Danielson then says he has put his body through a lot. Danielson then says a lot of wrestlers who have worked a long period of time didn’t put their bodies through what he did on the independent scene to get noticed. Danielson then says it’s likely that he will need to get neck surgery before the end of the year. Ross then asks Danielson if he’s prepared for what it will take to win his match with Swerve Strickland. Danielson then says he has had four opportunities to win the AEW World Championship. Danielson then says he was ready before those matches and each time he failed. Danielson then says he learned something in each of those losses. Danielson then says he’s the most mentally strong that he’s ever been during his career and he believes that’s what will pull him through.
We then head to the back, where Lexy Nair is interviewing Hikaru Shida. Shida recalls calling out Britt Baker and losing to her on Dynamite. Shida then says they are 2-2 against one another and will settle the score someday, but for now she needs real competition and a chance to go to Wembley. Shida then brings up Mercedes Moné and tells her to put her TBS Title on the line. Shida then says when she wins the title, she will be the one who goes on to Wembley. Schiavone then says Tony Khan just told him that Moné vs. Shida for the TBS Title is official for Dynamite.
We then get the entrances of the main event, which is a Unified World Trios Championship #1 Contender’s Match, with The Patriarchy’s Christian Cage as the special guest referee.
The match starts off with Brody King and Juice Robinson and Robinson is sent to the corner. Juice then tries to take King down with a shoulder tackle, but to no avail. We then see a tag made, but all six men rush in as Cage tries to maintain some level of order. Malakai is tagged in and he and Austin trade holds before Buddy tags himself in to keep on the attack. Buddy then delivers a few strikes on Austin, then stares Cage down. Colten then to gets the tag and takes Matthews down. Juice is then tagged in and has the upper hand on Buddy as the Bang Bang Gang triple-team him in the corner. Robinson then gets a near fall, before Buddy gets back to his feet using the ropes. Robinson then stomps at Buddy on the ropes until Cage intervenes. Th Bang Bang Gang then send Buddy to the outside. They then slide back in as Matthews tries to tag King in, but Cage is so focused on keeping the Gunns in the corner that he doesn’t see the tag made.
Cage then tells Brody to get back on the apron as the Bang Bang Gang continue to lay into Matthews. Matthews then breaks free and makes the tag to Malakai. Black then hits a flurry of offense and sends Austin to the corner as Brody tags in. The Bang Bang Gang then pulls Austin out of harm’s way, but hits a dive on them to the outside. Austin then finally manages to get a tag in to Colten, who quickly tags Juice in as they keep Brody and Malakai at bay. Colten then hits Brody with a forearm and Juice hits a cannonball on Malakai on the opposite side. Chaos then ensues until Malakai hits Juice, while Brody lays Colten out. Brody then gets hit with a 3:10 to Yuma, but Brody kicks out. Malakai then goes for The End on Colten and Colten gets hit with a Bossman slam by King. Robinson then hits a DDT and gets taken out with a Meteora. Cage then begins the count and as he reaches the count of nine, he takes Buddy out with a spear before counting ten to call for the bell.
The Unified World Trios Championship #1 Contender’s Match ends in a double count-out!
After the match, The Patriarchy make their way down to the ring with chairs, laying waste to their potential challengers in the House of Black and the Bang Bang Gang. Nick Wayne then hits a Wayne’s World on the outside before going back in to help set Malakai up for a Killswitch by Cage to the chair on the mat. Cage’s music then hits as The Patriarchy stand tall with their titles and Collision comes to a close.
