Injuries can happen at any time in WWE and Seth Rollins knows that all too well. Unfortunately, he’s out of action right now due to an injury and now WWE’s plans for Rollins after his return have been revealed.
On the August 5 episode of WWE Raw, Bronson Reed unleashed a brutal assault on former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Reed executed several Tsunami splashes, leading to Rollins being rushed to the hospital after coughing up blood, effectively writing him off WWE television for the time being.
It was already reported that Seth Rollins is dealing with chronic issues and is expected to be out of action for a while in order to recuperate. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is unclear whether Seth Rollins will return in time for Bash in Berlin on August 31st.
Meltzer noted that if he does come back, it is now expected he will face Bronson Reed rather than CM Punk. This shift makes the planned Punk vs. Rollins match seem more like a way to navigate around a loss for Punk, although a future match between Punk and Rollins is still expected in the future.
“We’re not sure if he’ll be back for the PPV or not, but if he is, it would now seem to be with Reed and not with Punk, which makes the Punk finish even more just a way to get out of a match and having Punk lose. Although they no doubt will get to Punk vs. Rollins at some point.”
We certainly hope Seth Rollins will be able to make his triumphant return to in-ring competition as soon as possible as fans simply want him to continue doing what he does best each and every week.
