The SummerSlam Premium Live Event delivered excitement from start to finish, leaving fans buzzing long after the final bell. But amid the action-packed weekend in Cleveland, WWE also held tryouts to scout new talent—a process that has now garnered attention for an unexpected outcome.
During SummerSlam week, WWE hosted a series of tryouts featuring a diverse group of athletes and aspiring wrestlers. The event saw the presence of WWE legends like Shawn Michaels and CM Punk, adding to the prestige of the occasion. Among the participants, one name stood out and quickly went viral: Sofia Iaderosa. Her Twitter profile generated an impressive 3.2 million impressions, sparking anticipation among fans that she might be WWE’s next big signing.
However, in a surprising twist, Iaderosa revealed that she has not been offered a deal by WWE. In a heartfelt tweet, she expressed her gratitude to WWE, NXT, Shawn Michaels, and WWE Recruit fans for their support, despite not making the cut.
“Appreciate the love from all you @WWE @WWENXT @ShawnMichaels @WWERecruit fans since the tryout! Unfortunate to not have made it but hoping to see you guys in the future! :),” she wrote.
Canadian-born Iaderosa currently plays for Ataşehir Belediyespor in Turkey’s top division. Her athletic prowess is well-established, having previously played for Birkirkara in Malta, where she competed in the UEFA Women’s Champions League at just 18 years old.
In addition to Iaderosa, other notable participants included Katana Chance’s real-life boyfriend and Elijah Holyfield, the son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield. While Iaderosa didn’t secure a contract, the question remains whether any of these other hopefuls will eventually sign with WWE.
Fans will be watching closely to see if Iaderosa or any of the other tryout participants make their way to WWE in the future.
