Sting is credited as one of the most iconic figures in the world of professional wrestling who has been a part of top promotions and contributed to their success. Moreover, after his retirement at AEW Revolution 2024, his son has also now embarked on a journey to become a pro-wrestler.

But outside the ring, The Icon is a remarkable individual who recently voiced his support for a former colleague he worked closely with. The former WCW Champion took to his X to advocate support for Mike Kelly, a former security personnel for both WCW and TNA when Sting competed for them.

Kelly recently underwent liver transplant with a GoFundMe page setup by one of his family members, Margaret Kelly.

“Mike Kelly was one of the WCW and TNA security guys who had our backs through all the airports, hotels, arenas. He has just gone through a liver transplant, if you would like to help.”

Sting noted that Mike Kelly had a significant role in helping him and other wrestlers in having their backs through airports, hotels and arenas for live shows. Kelly had 59 blood transfusions and was hospitalized 9 times, averaging 2 weeks per admission between December 2023 and July 2024.

On July 12 2024, a donor matched and he underwent live transplant with his family trying to cope up with the medical fees. This led to Sting, who has a huge influence to help out Mike who had been a support for him during his prime, proving himself to be a kind-hearted man behind his larger than life wrestling personality.

Ringside News extends its support to Mike Kelly and his family for his ongoing treatment and hope for a speedy recovery.
