The August 9, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown took place at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. WWE fans filled the venue, eagerly anticipating the action. The opening segment set the tone for the night as the company continued its journey from SummerSlam toward the upcoming Bash in Berlin.

Roman Reigns made a surprising return at SummerSlam last week, targeting Solo Sikoa instead of Cody Rhodes. Reigns delivered a Superman Punch and a spear to Sikoa, helping Rhodes retain his title. It was later confirmed that Reigns would appear on the August 9th edition of Friday Night SmackDown at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In the main event segment of this week’s Friday Night SmackDown, Solo Sikoa was informed that Roman Reigns wasn’t in the building. “He will be,” Solo answered. He then went out to address the WWE Universe, telling Tulsa to acknowledge him, but the response was less than receptive. He called out Roman Reigns, proclaiming that he’s the Tribal Chief now and challenging Roman to come and take the Tribal Chief title from him if he wanted it.

Roman Reigns answered the call. The Original Tribal Chief made his way to the ring to confront the new Bloodline, which obviously didn’t sit well with Solo Sikoa. Roman took out Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa before turning his attention to Solo.

Roman stepped into the ring with Solo as fans chanted “OTC” at him. Roman then took the fight to Solo, including a Superman Punch, but Solo was pulled out of the ring before Roman could nail a spear. Suddenly, Tama and Tanga jumped Roman while he was distracted by the Hula Falla Necklace. Roman soon turned this around and nailed a spear on Tanga Loa as fans chanted “OTC” once again. He then speared Tama Tonga through the barricade to signify his return.

The show ended with Solo Sikoa taunting Roman Reigns from the entrance ramp, as the Original Tribal Chief looked on. Obviously, this chapter in the Bloodline’s saga is just beginning.
