Roman Reigns made a surprise return at SummerSlam, targeting Solo Sikoa rather than Cody Rhodes and it’s confirmed he will be appearing on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Interestingly enough, he has also been advertised for a key SmackDown episode in the future.
The upcoming agreement between SmackDown and the USA Network was originally slated to begin next year, but it will actually start in September. NBCUniversal previously announced that WWE SmackDown will move to the USA Network starting Friday, September 13, earlier than initially expected.
This move comes after the announcement of a five-year deal between WWE and USA Network, set to take effect when SmackDown’s rights with FOX expire and there is obviously a lot of hype for the debut episode of SmackDown on the USA Network this year.
WWE’s official website is currently advertising Roman Reigns for the debut episode of Friday Night SmackDown on the USA Network, set to take place at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington on September 13th.
Before that, Roman Reigns has already been advertised for the August 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown as well. Regardless, fans should now expect to see The Tribal Chief on WWE television more often, as business will truly pick up.
