Ricky Starks has been a prominent name in AEW since 2020, but he has been noticeably absent from television since late March. While he remains sidelined, it appears he has not yet signed a new contract with AEW.

On the March 30 episode of AEW Collision, Ricky Starks appeared to sustain an injury during a tag team title tournament match where he and Big Bill faced off against Top Flight. This match ended up being his last appearance on AEW television, and he has not been seen on television since then for reasons that remain unclear.

We have also reported on the likely reason for Ricky Starks being absent from AEW television, as some believe he is WWE-bound and so the company simply doesn’t plan on using him anymore.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ricky Starks has not signed a new deal with AEW and recently turned down a storyline that would have involved Big Bill turning on him, which would have positioned Starks as a babyface. As a result, Starks is no longer being used in AEW.

”He hasn’t signed a new deal and he turned down an angle for Big Bill to turn on him where he’d be a babyface and now be used anymore.”

It was also reported that WWE is eyeing to sign Ricky Starks. Regardless of these developments, only time will reveal whether Ricky Starks will return to AEW or sign with WWE in the future, as the landscape of professional wrestling is always full of possibilities.
