WWE has signed deals with many promising individuals, and Jacob Henry possesses the tools to become a breakout Superstar. Although he is headed to WWE, his transition to the pro wrestling ring will not happen immediately.
At the Remix Rumble event, Jacob Henry took the microphone and made a significant announcement. Amid chants of “NXT” from the crowd, he confirmed he is joining WWE and revealed that his contract is already signed, making it official.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jacob Henry’s agreement with WWE is an NIL deal, meaning he will be paid by WWE while attending college. Henry joins a list of notable names WWE has signed NIL deals with, but he will not be moving directly into pro wrestling.
Jacob Henry will compete as a heavyweight on the University of Oklahoma wrestling team, one of the top programs in the country. He will also try out for the football team in the spring. He will have a busy schedule but can look forward to WWE after college.
Jacob Henry was standout athlete in high school, so a jump to WWE makes perfect sense. It also really helped that his father could pull some massive strings to get him to the head of the line. With an NIL deal in place, Jacob is on his way to an eventual WWE debut.
We will closely monitor Jacob Henry’s progress. If he has skills comparable to his Hall of Fame father, he is likely to become a standout star in WWE. At the very least, he will enjoy a better college experience as an NIL signee.
