The landscape of Friday Night SmackDown was completely revamped with The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu outlasting DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa) last week to capture the WWE tag team championship.

On the August 9 edition of SmackDown, a top contender tourney was announced to determine the next challengers for the titles. One of those bouts saw the former champions, DIY battle against Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson).

The match was a classic display of tag team wrestling as the veteran team looked for the opportunity to reclaim their championships while the upstart duo of Pretty Deadly eyed a significant chance to ascend on the SmackDown brand.

Following an intense back and forth between both teams, it came down to the final moments where DIY executed a Shatter Machine followed by a meet me in the middle double team move on Elton Prince to secure the victory. With their win, they will now face The Street Profits, who defeated A-Town Down Under earlier in the night, next week on SmackDown.
