Bobby Lashley had been a prime fixture for WWE television until this year, with rumors of his WWE exit swirling for some time now. Earlier this year, Lashley also suffered an injury which forced him to withdraw from the WWE King of the Ring tournament.

Since then, his absence from WWE television has fueled speculation about his status with the company. Moreover, a recent report stated that Lashley’s WWE contract is set to expire this weekend.

With his WWE deal nearing its expiry, Bobby Lashley shed light on his injury status in a recent interview on The Laboratory Podcast. The Almighty revealed that he suffered an injury during a match in France and underwent surgery for the same.

Despite being told he would need six months to recover, Lashley was back to working out just six weeks after the surgery, impressing his physical therapist with his quick progress. Now, two months post-surgery, Lashley claimed that he was pushing hard in his training and expected to be fully cleared for in-ring action in less than a month.

“I had surgery. A little boo boo, happened in France during a match. Just a freak accident. They told me I wasn’t supposed to be back for six months. Six weeks, I have the brace off, working out. My physical therapist was like, ‘You’re not supposed to be able to do that.’ ‘I’m different.’ I’m working out and lifting. I don’t think I’m two months out of surgery now and I’m hitting it pretty hard. I think I’ll be ready and cleared in less than a month. At that time, we’ll see what happens.”

Beyond the wrestling ring, the former WWE Champion reportedly has opportunities outside of professional wrestling. This could influence his decision to either explore new ventures or continue his career in another promotion once he gets medical clearance for in-ring action.
