Wes Lee suffered an injury last year, with an expected recovery time of nearly a year. Contrary to predictions, he made an earlier return in May and reunited with The Rascalz. However, on NXT this week, Lee turned heel on his former partners. In response, Zachary Wentz expressed his heartbreak over the turn of events.

During Week Two of the NXT Great American Bash on August 6, the NXT Tag Team Champions, Frazer and Axiom, defended their titles against Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz at the Capitol Wrestling Centre.

The match delivered high-energy tag team action, with Frazer and Axiom showcasing their athleticism and teamwork while Lee and Wentz sought to win their first NXT titles since reuniting. The crowd chanted “This is Awesome” as the action intensified.

In the final moments, Frazer and Axiom overcame a miscommunication to execute a successful double team maneuver on Wes Lee. Axiom scored the pinfall, allowing Frazer and Axiom to retain their titles.

After the match, Wes Lee turned on both members of The Rascalz, attacking them post-match. He yelled, “You left me alone,” before leaving Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel battered and walking away alone, as he truly shocked fans in a big way.

On August 7th, Zachary Wentz took to Twitter to express his feelings about the recent events involving Wes Lee. He shared his heartbreak over the situation, admitting that words couldn’t fully capture his emotions. Despite the betrayal, Wentz made it clear that he still had love for Lee. The post featured several pictures of Wentz and Lee, reflecting on their shared experiences and journey together.

”I don’t even know what to say right now. Heartbroken doesn’t even begin to describe it. I still love you brother.💔”

We’ll have to wait and see how WWE will book Wes Lee in the coming weeks. Fans are certainly intrigued by this new direction for the previously established babyface, who has now turned heel.
