Matt Riddle and Bill Goldberg had a pretty rocky relationship as the two former WWE Superstars have shown their dislike for each other. Thankfully, things between the two are better now, but it appears Riddle claimed that Goldberg bragged about his bank account during their first interaction.
Riddle has also called out Goldberg in the past and was not shy about it. Riddle was also confronted by Goldberg backstage during SummerSlam in 2019, where he told Riddle that he was “not his bro.” Goldberg also blocked Riddle on social media in the past.
Goldberg previously revealed in an interview that he still appreciates Matt Riddle even if he doesn’t necessarily like Riddle. The former NXT star stated that he understands why Goldberg doesn’t like him as person.
While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling, Matt Riddle talked about his first interaction with Goldberg backstage at SummerSlam 2019 where Goldberg confronted Riddle about his previous comments, where Riddle called Goldberg an unsafe worker. Riddle revealed that Goldberg bragged about having a huge bank account compared to Riddle during their interaction.
“Bill wasn’t happy about it. That day, there’s that one skit that’s caught on camera. Then we ran into each other again where we had a longer talk and he basically said I was very disrespectful by saying what I said, and I go, ‘I don’t think I was.’ Then he goes, ‘How do you figure?’ I go, ‘Because I wasn’t lying.’ He goes, ‘Well, my bank account’s huge.’ I go, ‘I bet it is.'”
Matt Riddle also envisions an epic encounter with Goldberg in AEW, but that is highly unlikely to happen. Regardless, Riddle will always speak his mind about Goldberg and that’s unlikely to ever change.
