Bryan Danielson’s AEW contract ended on August 1, yet he continues to wrestle for the company. His commitment to performing for the fans was clear as he faced Double J in a no disqualification, no time limit match on the August 7 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat was present in North Carolina this week to join the commentary table for this match. He received a warm reception from the live audience as they settled in for the final match of the night.

The American Dragon didn’t even get to finish his entrance during the main event of Dynamite this week before Jeff Jarrett attacked him with a guitar shot to the back. The fight then moved to the arena concourse as fans gathered around them. They continued battling as Jarrett maintained control, but Danielson turned the tables by catching Double J off guard, allowing him to take charge of the contest as they made their way to the ring.

The match was intense and concluded with Bryan Danielson using a chair against his knee as he delivered a Psycho Knee to end the match. It was a hard-fought contest and could be significant for Bryan Danielson as he wraps up his in-ring career. We will have to see how AEW plans their Wembley Stadium show in 18 days.
