The intense rivalry between Dr Britt Baker, D.M.D, and Mercedes Mone reached a new development on the August 7 edition of AEW Dynamite, putting an end to her AEW status following the suspension after a recent MJF backstage incident.

After Mercedes Mone’s associate, the Brickhouse Kamille, decimated two enhancement talents in a 2-on-1 match, Mercedes came into the ring to address her upcoming match with Britt Baker.

The CEO stated that they did not have to deal with Britt Baker until AEW All In, citing her suspension by the EVPs, The Young Bucks, while mocking her credibility as a top star. This led Baker’s best friend and AEW commentator to interrupt Mercedes Mone and inform her that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan had overruled their decision and lifted Baker’s suspension.

Britt Baker appeared on the titantron via satellite and berated Mercedes Mone for treating AEW as the flavour of the month, while for her, AEW was home. Baker ended the segment by proclaiming that much like she was the first woman signed to the company, she would also become the first woman to hand Mercedes Mone her first AEW loss and take her TBS Championship at AEW All In.
