The compelling and exciting NXT tag team title reign of Nathan Frazer and Axiom was challenged by the reuniting and revamped popularity of MSK, comprising TNA’s Rascalz and top NXT star Wes Lee, after a few encounters backstage seen in recent weeks.

The NXT tag team champions, Frazer and Axiom, were set to defend their gold against Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz on Week Two of NXT Great American Bash, taking place inside the Capitol Wrestling Centre.

Both teams demonstrated a highly exciting and jam-packed display of tag team wrestling that had the fans glued to their seats in one of the opening contests for the special event. Frazer and Axiom brought their exceptional athleticism and function as a cohesive unit, while MSK looked to win their first piece of NXT gold after reuniting.

The action continued throughout the match as both teams went up against each other in a stellar showdown, with the fans erupting in a ‘This is Awesome’ chant. The match came down to the closing moments, where Nathan Frazer and Axiom, despite an early miscommunication, executed a double team move on Wes Lee, and Axiom scored the pinfall to retain their titles.

However, the night ended in a major shocker as Wes Lee attacked both members of The Rascalz, shouting, “You left me alone,” and ending the show with Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel beaten down by Wes Lee and the former NXT North American Champion walking away alone.
