Britt Baker’s return to AEW television at Forbidden Door was overshadowed by controversy due to a backstage altercation involving her, MJF, and Alicia Atout. The incident has resulted in Baker’s suspension, and the reasons for her suspension related to MJF have now been clarified.
The conflict started when Britt Baker made negative comments about MJF and his girlfriend, Alicia Atout, in the women’s locker room during the July 17th episode of Dynamite. Atout relayed these remarks to MJF, which led to a series of confrontations involving all three. Will Ospreay also got involved, trying to address the growing tensions with Baker.
The situation escalated when MJF, frustrated, punched a wall backstage. Despite a brief suspension for Baker after an HR investigation, she has continued to appear on television.
PWInsider reports that Britt Baker was suspended because it was believed that she instigated the situation. Since MJF was reacting to her comments, and in some accounts, defending his girlfriend Alicia Atout, Baker was seen as the party responsible.
We have also reported that AEW personnel are angry about the fact that MJF wasn’t suspended after his confrontation with Britt Baker. Regardless, only time will tell if AEW will get things in check and finally get rid of all the backstage drama plaguing the company.
