Joe Hendry’s appearances in WWE NXT have been a treat for the fans, but the popularity of the music sensation has not sat well with the faction Gallus. The trio of Joe and Mark Coffey and Wolfgang have despised the TNA star crossing the line multiple times to come to their show and steal the spotlight.
Moreover, Gallus even laid a massive beatdown on Hendry after his first live in-ring concert on Week 1 of the NXT Great American Bash. This led to Joe Hendry challenging Joe Coffey at tonight’s Week 2 edition of the show in NXT.
Joe Hendry walked into the battle alone with the entire NXT Universe behind him in his support, while Joe Coffey had his cohorts on his side. However, he launched right on top of them at the very start to show that he was ready.
The match was intense and hard-hitting, and Gallus also interfered multiple times in their bid to help Joe Coffey secure the win. However, the referee tossed them out of the ringside area after Hendry pulled off an Eddie Guerrero move, making it an even field. The TNA star gained the upper hand as soon as he had Joe Coffey alone and delivered a thunderous Standing Ovation to him to score the pinfall.
After the match, in an in-ring interview with Sarah Schreiber, Hendry stated that he would be staying in NXT for an extended time period. He also announced that he would be back next week for anyone who wished to pick up a fight with him.
