AEW has successfully attracted several former WWE talents, and now Shane McMahon’s name is swirling around the rumor mill. Speculation suggests he might soon appear in AEW, as he reportedly held a meeting with Tony Khan to explore potential collaborations.
Bryan Danielson is gearing up for a monumental match at All In on August 25, where he will face Swerve Strickland with the AEW World Title on the line. This showdown has the potential to be a title vs. career match, raising many intriguing possibilities.
During an appearance on The Gorilla Position, Danielson was asked about the prospect of working with Shane in AEW. He’s open to working with anyone who walks through the door, especially a McMahon.
“I’m open to working with anybody. I don’t have beef with anybody. 100%.”
Tony Khan met with Shane McMahon to discuss “possibilities moving forward,” accompanied by a photo of the two in a meeting that circulated online. Mercedes Mone also claimed responsibility for that photo. Danielson, who knows Shane well from their time as general managers on WWE SmackDown from 2016 to 2018, was asked if he had any insights into the meeting.
Danielson playfully responded that even if he did know, he wouldn’t reveal anything, indicating that he is keeping any privileged information under wraps.
“One, if I knew, I would not tell you. Two, I don’t know [laughs]. It was interesting because Tony mentioned to me after the photo came out, ‘I didn’t want to tell you this before, but I met with Shane McMahon.’ I didn’t say this, but I was like, ‘Yeah, I know. The picture is everywhere.’ To be fair, I’m not aware of a lot of things because I don’t go on Twitter or social media.”
Fans are eagerly waiting to see what AEW will do next to surprise its audience. Whether Shane McMahon will make his way to AEW remains to be seen, but the buzz has certainly sparked widespread discussion. It will be fascinating to see if Shane-O-Mac can impact AEW’s viewership if he joins the roster.
AEW All In promises to be a spectacular event at Wembley Stadium. With the Shane McMahon rumors circulating, anything could happen on August 25.
