Bryan Danielson, renowned as one of the top professional wrestlers worldwide, has always expressed enduring respect for Vince McMahon for his time in WWE. However, Danielson has now addressed how his feelings have evolved in light of the recent trafficking lawsuit involving McMahon.

When Bryan Danielson left WWE, he wrote an open letter for The Player’s Tribune addressing fans, the company, and Vince McMahon, though he didn’t mention McMahon by name. In the letter, he referred to McMahon as “the Big Man” and expressed gratitude for their conversations, the life lessons he learned (both positive and negative), and the best hug he had ever received. Danielson also wished that more people could see McMahon as he does.

On January 25th, Janel Grant, a former WWE staff member, filed lawsuit against WWE, John Laurinaitis, and Vince McMahon, alleging incidents of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking dating back to March 2019. The lawsuit contains grave accusations against these high-profile individuals, shedding light on significant misconduct within the company and calling into question the safety and integrity of the workplace environment at WWE.

In a recent interview with Gorilla Position, Bryan Danielson reflected on his earlier comments about Vince McMahon and how his personal perspective has shifted. He stressed that the real struggles are faced by those who have been harmed and expressed deep empathy for their situations. Danielson acknowledged that people’s views of others can change significantly over time, noting this in the context of John Laurinaitis, who is involved in the McMahon lawsuit and is Danielson’s father-in-law.

“First and foremost, I want to say people that have been hurt are in a way worse position than I am,” Danielson said. “My empathy goes to them. There’s not a lot I want to say about it, honestly, because it’s not just the Vince piece, but my father-in-law [John Laurinaitis], or maybe ex-father-in-law, as far as that kind of stuff goes. You think of somebody in some way, and then something happens and it changes. And that’s always hard. But like I said, as hard as that may be for me emotionally … It’s way worse for people who have been victimized by people in power.”

It was previously reported that lawyers for former WWE employee Janel Grant have filed pre-action discovery petition against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc and the trafficking lawsuit is currently on hold pending federal investigation, so we’ll have to see what will be revealed in the investigation. Nonetheless, Danielson will always be honest about his feelings and that’s not changing anytime soon.
