Penta El Zero Miedo, one-half of the beloved Lucha Brothers alongside Rey Fenix, has been an integral part of the AEW family since its debut back in 2019. However, as their contract expiry draws near, it appears AEW’s internal belief about their future has been revealed.

As reported earlier, Penta El Zero Miedo’s contract with AEW is set to expire between August and September 2024, making him a potential free agent and it was noted he was open to leaving WWE. There is interest from WWE in acquiring his services as well. The same was said about Rey Fenix, as both of their contracts will be expiring this year.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that there the belief within AEW is that both Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix may leave the company for WWE once their contracts expire.

“The internal belief within AEW is that both Penta and Rey Fenix would be leaving the company for WWE when their contracts expire.”

The Lucha Brothers have been with AEW since the company’s inaugural show in 2019, where they lost to The Young Bucks at the first Double or Nothing event. Throughout their time in AEW, they have won the AEW Tag Team titles once and the AEW World Trios titles with PAC, as part of the Death Triangle. Additionally, Fenix is a former International Champion.

Many fans feel the Lucha Brothers leaving AEW would be a huge blow to the company, considering their contributions to AEW over the past several years. Regardless, only time will tell what Penta and Fenix will do in the end.
