It’s Monday night, and you know what that means! The post-WWE SummerSlam episode of RAW will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the August 5, 2024 episode.

WWE RAW Results (8/5/2024):

The show opens up with a recap of this past Saturday night’s WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. We then get video footage of “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Damian Priest walking backstage. We also see WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker and “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre arriving separately at the arena. McIntyre then kisses the bracelet he stole from CM Punk.

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee then welcomes us to the show as we see Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser standing in the ring with a spotlight on him. Kaiser then introduces new WWE World Heavyweight Champion “The Ring General” GUNTHER and GUNTHER makes his way down to the ring.

GUNTHER starts off by introducing himself and listing off some of his accomplishments in WWE, then adds World Heavyweight Champion to the mix. GUNTHER then says if fans think that his Intercontinental Championship reign was historic, they’ll have to watch and see what he does with the World Heavyweight Championship. GUNTHER then says he is above everyone in the ring and he is ready and prepared for everyone. GUNTHER then calls himself greatness personified, then says from this day forth, RAW, the legacy of professional wrestling and the legacy of the World Heavyweight Championship belongs to him.

Randy Orton’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. GUNTHER admits that he was caught off guard by Orton and Orton says he wanted to come to the ring to congratulate GUNTHER on being the new World Heavyweight Champion. Orton then says the World Heavyweight Championship looks good on GUNTHER, but he can’t help but think about how he’s the only reason GUNTHER is the champion in the first place. Orton then says GUNTHER beat him in the finals of King of the Ring to secure his title shot at SummerSlam, then questions if GUNTHER really won their match given that his shoulders weren’t fully down on the mat. Orton then says Triple H himself watched the footage and granted him a future shot at GUNTHER’s title, then says he’s cashing in on that. Orton then says GUNTHER calls himself a living legend and while that’s fine, he’s made a career out of killing legends. Orton then says he’ll kill another legend at WWE Bash In Berlin and walk out as the new World Heavyweight Champion. GUNTHER then accepts Orton’s challenge and both men shake hands. GUNTHER then pulls in Orton close and tells him that nothing catches him out of nowhere. Orton then says he wants GUNTHER to see it when he hits an RKO. Orton then leaves the ring.

We then head to the back, where Sheamus is being interviewed by Jackie Redmond. Sheamus speaks about facing Ludwig Kaiser and refers to him as a human Ken doll. Sheamus then asks the Baltimore crowd if they are ready for a banger and then he makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night as Kaiser was still in the ring.

Singles Match: “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus vs. Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser

The match starts off with Kaiser and Sheamus brawling on the ramp. Sheamus then sends Kaiser crashing into the barricade, but Kaiser delivers some right hands on him. Sheamus then returns the favor and sends Kaiser inside the ring and joins him. Kaiser then delivers a couple of chops on Sheamus. Sheamus then nails Kaiser with a right hand and follows it up with chops and a couple of stomps in the corner. Sheamus then sends Kaiser crashing into the mat and climbs to the top, but Kaiser rolls out of the ring holding his ribs. The referee then checks on Kaiser and calls for medical officials to come down to the ring, but Kaiser nails Sheamus and delivers some right hands on him, revealing it was all a ruse. Kaiser then dropkicks Sheamus into the ring steps and gets back into the ring.

The referee then begins a ten count, but Sheamus beats it. Kaiser then continues wearing Sheamus down in the corner, then hits a dropkick on his knee. Sheamus then sends Kaiser tumbling out of the ring, but Kaiser responds with an overhand chop on Sheamus as he hangs from the bottom rope. Kaiser then hits The Ten Beats Of The Bodhran on Sheamus, but Sheamus intercepts one of the beats and nails Kaiser. Kaiser then hits an overhand chop on Sheamus, but Sheamus responds with a series of right hands on Kaiser. Sheamus then nails Kaiser with a couple of back elbows and follows it up with a clothesline in the corner and an Irish Curse Backbreaker.

Sheamus then gets Kaiser up for the Celtic Cross, but Kaiser escapes and hits an open palm strike on Sheamus. Kaiser then follows it up with a right hand on Sheamus’ spine, but Sheamus responds with a White Noise and goes for a pin. Kaiser then kicks out and Sheamus puts Kaiser in a Cloverleaf. Kaiser then crawls over to the bottom rope to break the hold. Kaiser then nails Sheamus with a clothesline and goes for a pin, but Sheamus kicks out. Kaiser and Sheamus then slap each other, but Sheamus turns Kaiser inside out with a clothesline and sends him onto the apron. Sheamus then hits The Ten Beats Of The Bodhran on Kaiser, then climbs to the top and hits a clothesline on him on the outside. Sheamus then sends Kaiser back in the ring, but Pete Dunne appears out of nowhere and looks to hit Sheamus with a shillelagh. Sheamus then avoids it and hits a jumping knee on Dunne, but gets hit with a step-up enzuigiri from Kaiser when he gets back in the ring. Kaiser then goes for a pin, but Sheamus kicks out and hits a jumping knee on him. Sheamus then follows it up with a Brogue Kick for the win.

We then get a graphic saying that Roman Reigns’ return at SummerSlam resulted in over 100 million social media views, making it the biggest SummerSlam social media moment to date.

We then get a video package on Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Sicks. We also get a video package recapping Finn Bálor turning on Damian Priest.

Damian Priest then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe.

Damian Priest starts off by wasting no time and calling Finn Balor down to the ring to take the beating coming to him like a man. Bálor doesn’t appear and Priest asks when Bálor went from a Prince to a backstabbing coward. Priest then says he’s been on his own for most of his life until he found his way to The Judgment Day. Priest then says he’s come to realize his family has gotten a whole lot bigger with the WWE Universe and he’s enraged that Bálor took the World Heavyweight Championship from his family. Priest then says when Bálor suffers, he’s responsible for his pain and calls him down to the ring for a second time. Bálor then appears on the big screen and says Judgment Day was never supposed to have a leader until Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship. Bálor then says he almost became the champion a year ago, but Priest ultimately cost him. Bálor then recalls Priest telling him to man up in the car after that happened, then says he did just that a year later. Bálor then says he won’t be fighting Priest, but JD McDonagh will in his place. Bálor then says he’ll wait until Priest feels safe and comfortable before he strikes in order to repeatedly stab Priest in his back. Bálor then says it won’t just be him. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, Carlito and McDonagh then show up to join Bálor. Priest then heads up the ramp and to the back.

We then head to the back, where RAW General Manager Adam Pearce was on the phone when “Big” Bronson Reed shows up. Reed says he beat Sheamus last week and was upset about Sheamus having a match. Pearce then talks about Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser. Reed then says Pearce always has an excuse and if he wants to get to the top, then he’ll need to take matters into his own hands.

We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Lyra Valkyria vs. Shayna Baszler

The match starts off with Baszler going straight after Valkyria. Baszler trips Valkyria, then stomps on her tricep. Valkyria then hits a crossbody on Baszler and turns her inside out with a couple of clotheslines. Valkyria then hits a gut wrench sit-out piledriver on Baszler. Stark then jumps up on the apron as Valkyria climbs to the top, but Valkyria fights her off and dropkicks her and Deville through the middle rope. Baszler then looks to put Valkyria in a Kirifuda Clutch, but Valkyria escapes and hits the Night Wing on Baszler. Valkyria then goes for a pin, but Deville and Stark break the fall to cause the disqualification.

After the match, Baszler, Deville and Stark continue beating down Valkyria. Damage CTRL’s music then hits and they make their way down to the ring to brawl with the trio and even the odds.

We then get a pre-taped promo from The Final Testament. Karrion Kross speaks about how AOP will put an end to The New Day. Kross then says New Day stood the test of time, but all good things must come to an end. Kross then says it didn’t have to be this way for Xavier Woods, who was too afraid to become his own man. Kross then says he gave Woods opportunity after opportunity and certainly more opportunities than he has been given.

CM Punk was then shown walking backstage and Michael Cole said he will appear next.

We then see Ivy Nile talking with Julius Creed and Brutus Creed. Nile dismisses them once Maxxine Dupri shows up. Chad Gable then shows up and tells Nile that Dupri brings nothing of value. Gable then says Dupri, Otis and Akira Tozawa can keep the Alpha Academy name because he has a new crew. Gable then tells Nile that she doesn’t need Dupri.

CM Punk then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe.

CM Punk starts off by pointing out the fact that he’s smiling, then says that despite losing at SummerSlam, the Premium Live Event was never a guarantee for him due to his torn triceps as was him being in the ring to appear on tonight’s show. Punk then says he gets back up every time he’s down and some people in WWE hate him for not staying down. Punk then says while doctor’s told him initially that his recovery window would be nine months, he did it in five months. Punk then addresses Drew McIntyre and everything he’s put him through and says SummerSlam was just the start. Punk then says his journey to WrestleMania 41 started on Saturday, then questions where he will be without the fans. Punk then says fans deserve less of him talking and more of him fighting and despite McIntyre vowing to put him in the ground, he’s still standing.

Seth “Freakin” Rollins’ music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Rollins removes his jacket and tells Punk that like him, he is also in a good mood. Rollins then says that after ten years, it’s finally time for him to put Punk in the dirt. Rollins then looks to get in the ring, but Drew McIntyre’s voice from the crowd stops him. McIntyre asks what’s with all the negativity because tonight is a night of celebration with his SummerSlam win. McIntyre then says he’s earned Punk’s undivided attention and he shocked both him and the world on Saturday when he proved that he still has it. McIntyre then says Punk is no longer the “Best In The World” because he is now and Rollins and Punk should be staring at him rather than each other. McIntyre then holds up his arm with Punk’s bracelet, leading to Punk jumping the barricade and charging at McIntyre through the crowd. McIntyre then retreats, but Punk follows him as Bronson Reed blindsides Rollins in the ring. Rollins then hits a superkick on Reed, but Reed responds with a Death Valley Driver and a couple of sentons on him. Reed then climbs to the top and hits a couple of Tsunamis on Rollins. Officials then appear at ringside to check on Rollins, but Reed climbs to the top and hits four more Tsunamis as officials try stopping him. Reed then slides out of the ring, but gets back inside and sits on the middle rope. Reed then crosses his arms and stands tall, but officials order Reed to the back and he follows what they say.

We then get an ad for Smackdown hyping the return of Roman Reigns.

Commentary then recaps Bronson Reed attacking Seth Rollins. We then head to the back, where Jackie Redmond asks RAW General Manager Adam Pearce for an update on Rollins. Pearce says Rollins will be going to the hospital and the training staff was concerned about internal bleeding. CM Punk then enters in search of Drew McIntyre. Pearce tells Punk that he walked McIntyre out of the building. Pearce then tells Punk that McIntyre is gone and he needs to relax.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night, which is a Tag Team Match and The Final Testament is already waiting inside the ring.

Tag Team Match: The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) vs. The Final Testament’s Authors Of Pain (Akam and Rezar)

The match starts off with Kofi Kingston and Akam. Kingston hits a dropkick on Akam. Akam then sends Kingston into the corner. Akam then hits a spinebuster on Kingston, then tags in Rezar. Rezar then delivers some right hands on Kingston. Kingston then hits a DDT off the ropes on Akam. Xavier Woods and Rezar then tag in and Woods hits a couple of forearms on Rezar. Woods then nails Rezar with a superkick, but Rezar sends Woods into the corner and places him on the top rope. Woods then hits a series of headbutts on Rezar, then hits him with a missile dropkick off the top rope. Woods then low bridges Akam out of the ring and Kingston flies to land on Akam on the outside. Scarlett then jumps up on the apron to distract the referee, opening the door for Karrion Kross to trip Woods on the ropes. Odyssey Jones then makes his way down to the ring and attacks Kross. Jones then sends him into the crowd, opening the door for Woods to roll up Rezar for the win.

After the match, Authors of Pain continue to beat Woods down, but Jones goes after them and hits AOP with a double Sidewalk Slam. Kross then looks to attack Jones, but Jones hits a slam on Kross. Kingston and Woods then returns to the ring to celebrate with Jones.

We then get a video package on JD McDonagh. McDonagh says Damian Priest never wanted him in Judgment Day because he’s the only person that Finn Bálor will listen to ahead of Priest. McDonagh then says now he’s in The Judgment Day and is a tag team champion while Priest has nothing.

A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller) then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night.

We then get a shot of Vancouver while Michael Cole hypes WWE Survivor Series: WarGames coming to the city.

We then head to the back, where Odyssey Jones tells Kofi Kingston that he is honored to help out The New Day. Kingston then introduces Jones to Woods. Jones then tells Woods that Kingston said they needed help against Then Final Testament. Woods then looks a little off, but then Akira Tozawa, Otis and Maxxine Dupri shows up and Woods joins in while Tozawa did his dance.

We then get highlights from SummerSlam of Jelly Roll chokeslamming Austin Theory, followed by Jelly Roll, The Miz and R-Truth doing a “15-Knuckle Shuffle” on Theory.

Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night.

Tag Team Match: Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) vs. A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory)

The match starts off with R-Truth and Austin Theory. Truth hits Grayson Waller with a back body drop and nails both him and Theory, then tags in The Miz. Miz and Truth then hits a double dropkick on Theory and one on Waller, then clotheslines them both out of the ring. A-Town Down Under then looks to hit a double dropkick on Truth. Truth then avoids it and tags in Miz. Miz then runs over Theory and Waller with a series of clotheslines, then hits a double flapjack on them and the Miz Kicks. Miz then hits Waller and Theory with a double dropkick, then nails them both on the outside and sends Theory back inside the ring. Miz then delivers some kicks on Theory’s chest before he climbs to the top. Truth then tags in and Miz flies with a crossbody. Miz then pins Theory, but the referee tells him that Waller is legal. Truth then gets Waller up for an Attitude Adjustment and hits it, but accidentally hits The Miz with Waller. This then opens the door for Theory to hit then A-Town Down Under on Truth for the win.

After the match, Miz helps R-Truth up and then shakes his hand and hugs him.

We then get a video promo package on Damian Priest. Priest says he never wanted JD McDonagh in The Judgment Day and only Finn Bálor did. Priest then says it amazes him that someone with a giant skull has such a tiny brain. Priest then says Bálor sent McDonagh to take the first bullet. Priest then says he hopes McDonagh confessed to his sins on Sunday because he plans to send his big-headed ass straight to hell.

JD McDonagh then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night.

We then head to the back, where Cathy Kelley is interviewing New WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker. Breakker says all the wrestlers in WWE like to talk about their title reigns and how long they lasted. Breakker then says it’s taken him less than three years since he arrived in NXT to win the Intercontinental Title. Breakker then says he still considers himself the hunter. Breakker then says he feels sorry for whatever idiot thinks he can take the title away from him. Breakker then says the championship was born to be on his shoulder. Breakker then shows off the side plate with his name on it. Breakker then says there’s not a man on the planet who can take his name off his title.

Damian Priest then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night.

Singles Match: Damian Priest vs. The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh

The match starts off with Priest nailing McDonagh with a boot, then sending him into the corner and hitting him with an open palm strike. Priest then sends McDonagh into the opposite corner, then sends him crashing into the mat face first and hits him with a right hand, but McDonagh responds with shoulders on Priest’s midsection. Priest and McDonagh then exchange strikes, but Priest sends McDonagh crashing out of the ring with a kick to his chest. Priest then follows McDonagh out there, then gets McDonagh up on one of his shoulders. McDonagh then escapes and sends Priest crashing into the ring post, then hits him with a tope suicida. Priest then sets up for South Of Heaven on McDonagh. McDonagh then avoids it and hits a moonsault on Priest off the ropes, then goes for a pin but Priest kicks out. Priest then nails McDonagh, but McDonagh delivers some strikes on him. Priest then responds with a couple kicks and strikes of his own, then hits McDonagh with a back elbow in the corner and a Broken Arrow that sends McDonagh out of the ring. Priest then follows McDonagh out of the ring and pushes him over the announce desk, then drags him back into the ring and hits him with a springboard clothesline. Finn Bálor then appears out of nowhere and blindsides Priest, causing the disqualification.

After the match, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan join the rest of Judgment Day at ringside. Carlito, Bálor and McDonagh then beat Priest down, but Priest takes Dominik, Carlito and McDonagh down. Priest then looks to hit Bálor, but Morgan helps Bálor out. Dominik and Morgan then beat Priest down, but Rhea Ripley’s music hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Dominik and Morgan. then look to retreat, but Ripley pulls Morgan back into ringside. Ripley then sends Morgan crashing into the ring post twice, then clears the announce desk and looks to send Morgan crashing through it with a Razor’s Edge. Dominik then saves Morgan before Ripley gets in the ring and hits a headbutt on McDonagh. Priest then follows it up with a South Of Heaven, then hugs Ripley.

Commentary then sends us to a video package recapping the return of Roman Reigns at SummerSlam during the Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa Bloodline Rules Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Michael Cole then hypes Reigns returning on Friday’s Smackdown.

Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai) were then shown walking backstage ahead of Kai’s scheduled match with Sonya Deville. Deville, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark then attack Damage CTRL. Kai then clutches her leg at the end. Cole then wonders how they can have a match.

Sonya Deville then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. Deville grabs a mic and says she doesn’t think they will see Dakota Kai in the ring. Deville then says it is so sad and assumes Kai is a little under the weather. Damage CTRL’s music then hits and IYO SKY and Kairi Sane make their way down to the ring. A graphic is then shown that IYO SKY will be Deville’s opponent.

Singles Match: Sonya Deville vs. Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY

The match starts off with Deville hitting a kick on SKY’s midsection. Deville then delivers a couple knees on it, but SKY takes her down with a hurricanrana and runs the ropes. Stark then distracts SKY but SKY dropkicks her through the ropes. Deville then takes advantage of the distraction and sends SKY crashing into the ring steps. SKY then rolls up Deville, but Deville kicks out. SKY then hits Deville with a Dragon Screw and a shoulder tackle, then follows it up with a dropkick and a splash in the corner, then climbs up the ropes and hits a missile dropkick. SKY then goes for a pin, but Deville kicks out. SKY then hits a stomp on Deville’s chest, then follows it up with a meteora and goes for a pin. Stark then gets Deville’s foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. Sane then takes Stark down with a back elbow and SKY hits a dropkick on Baszler through the ropes. SKY then sends Deville out of the ring, then joins Sane on the top rope. SKY then hits the Over The Moonsault on Deville on the outside as Sane hits the In-Sane Elbow on Stark and Baszler. SKY then gets Deville back in the ring and hits a second Over The Moonsault for the win.

We then head to the back, where Ilja Dragunov sings the praises of Sami Zayn. Zayn then thanks Dragunov and says he will make a fine champion himself. Jey Uso then shows up after Dragunov leaves and says it was a tough night for Zayn at SummerSlam. Jey then speaks about Zayn being able to pick himself up by getting his rematch and regaining the title. Zayn is then fired up and says he spoke with Adam Pearce and he’ll get his rematch next week. Jey then says Zayn will be a double champion once he wins the Intercontinental Title and then they finish things with The Judgment Day.

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee then speaks at ringside. Cole says Seth Rollins is undergoing various testing and the doctors are concerned about internal bleeding. Cole then sets up the latest Wyatt Sicks video and says it focuses on a man who thinks he’s Huskus the Pig.

We then get the latest Wyatt Sicks video. Joe Gacy has his back to the camera while Uncle Howdy says they kept him locked away. Howdy then says they will make them all pay for their sins. Gacy then yells once his face is shown.

Chad Gable, Julius Creed and Brutus Creed is then shown walking backstage. Gable speaks about having a new family and says they will take care of the freak show. Gable then dubs his new group “American Made” and they made their way down to the ring for the main event.

The lineup for next week’s episode of WWE RAW is then announced.

The Wyatt Sicks (Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis) then make their way down to the ring for the main event.

6-Man Tag Team Match: The Wyatt Sicks (Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis) vs. American Made (Chad Gable, Julius Creed and Brutus Creed)

The match starts off with Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy and Erick Rowan going after Gable and The Creed Brothers out of the ring. They Wyatt Sicks then send American Made outside and American Made looks to retreat. They are then stopped by Uncle Howdy sitting on a rocking chair on the ramp. Lumis then hits a back elbow on Julius. Lumis then hits Julius with a double ax handle and a leg drop, then tags in Gacy. Gacy then hits a Monkey Flip on Julius, then tags in Lumis. Lumis and Gacy then double team on Brutus before Gable tags in. The Creed Brothers then nail Gacy and Rowan on the apron, but Rowan and Gacy get inside the ring. Lumis then nails Gable using Julius as a weapon. Gacy then hits a bodyslam on Brutus and Rowan sends Julius crashing on top of Brutus. Gacy then hits a double senton on The Creed Brothers and powerbombs Lumis over the top rope and onto American Made on the outside. Gacy then hits a shoulder on Gable’s midsection. Brutus then tags in and gets Gacy up on his shoulders, then sends him crashing into the mat. Julius then tags in and Brutus hits a standing moonsault on Gacy. Gable then tags in and Julius hits a moonsault on Gacy off the middle rope. Gable then hits a moonsault of his own off the top on Gacy and pins him, but Lumis breaks the fall. The Creed Brothers then send Lumis crashing into the ring post shoulder first.

Brutus then tags in, then immediately tags out to Julius. Gacy then hits a double Upside Down on The Creed Brothers, then tags in Rowan. Rowan then nails all three members of American Made, then clotheslines Brutus out of the ring and follows it up with a high back body drop on Gable. Rowan then sends Gable crashing into the barricade face first on the outside, then gets him back in the ring and flies over the top rope to take down Gable. Rowan then hits a powerslam on Gable and goes for a pin, but The Creed Brothers break the fall. Julius then nails Rowan with a jumping knee and beats down Gacy, then sends him crashing out of the ring and continues beating him down on the outside. Lumis then flies off the top rope and nails The Creed Brothers with a senton on the outside. Gable then hits a German suplex on Rowan and pins him, but Rowan kicks out. Gacy and Lumis then send The Creed Brothers crashing into the announce desk with uranages as Rowan sends Gable crashing into the mat with a Mandible Claw style chokeslam. Gacy then tags in, then immediately tags out to Lumis. Gacy then powerbombs Lumis on top of Gable. Lumis then climbs to the top and hits a splash on Gable with some help from Rowan for the win.

After the match, Michael Cole says he can guarantee Bray Wyatt was looking down and was proud of what he saw. Highlights from the match is then shown. Cole then lists Nikki Cross as “Abby the Witch” after he lists Rowan, Gacy and Lumis by name. Uncle Howdy then enters the ring and the Wyatts Sicks poses around the lantern. Howdy then yells “We’re here” before laughing. The crowd then cheers and the Wyatt symbol flashes on the screen as the show comes to a close.
