The SummerSlam Premium Live Event had several solid matches and many memorable moments, but rumors spread that The Usos were supposed to be involved in the main event. In light of such rumors, we now have an update.

At WWE SummerSlam, Solo Sikoa competed against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Bloodline Rules match. The bout was rife with interference, beginning with Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, who were soon chased away by Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.

Jacob Fatu then made his entrance, delivering a diving splash that put Cody Rhodes through the announcer’s table, but he appeared to injure himself in the process and was sidelined for the remainder of the match. Roman Reigns made a surprising return, hitting Solo Sikoa with a Superman Punch and a powerful Spear, which allowed Cody Rhodes to capitalize with a Cross Rhodes and secure the victory.

Following the event, there was online speculation that Jimmy and Jey Uso were expected to be involved in the match. However, Fightful Select has confirmed that there was no plan or audible to include either of The Usos in this contest.

“Contrary to speculation online, there was never a plan or an audible called from an original plan to feature Jimmy Uso or Jey Uso in the match.”

Jey Uso also recently confirmed that Jimmy Uso will be returning to WWE soon. Regardless, we will have to wait and see when Jimmy Uso will return, as Roman Reigns’ comeback has already convinced fans the original Bloodline will return as well.
