Drew McIntyre has been on a dominant winning streak for months, and his feud with CM Punk has intensified, marked by sharp exchanges of words and physical confrontations. Recently, McIntyre took a swipe at Punk, criticizing his slow recovery from injury.

CM Punk sustained a torn triceps at WWE Royal Rumble, which led to a feud with Drew McIntyre. McIntyre had reportedly prayed for Punk’s injury, escalating their rivalry. This feud continued to build up, culminating in Punk’s in-ring return at WWE SummerSlam, where he faced McIntyre.

In a conversation with Sam Roberts ahead of WWE SummerSlam, Drew McIntyre talked about maintaining the feud during Punk’s injury. He remarked that Punk didn’t have a superhuman healing factor like Wolverine, which allowed McIntyre to extend the storyline. McIntyre noted that a torn triceps typically requires three to four months to heal, and Punk’s recovery time gave him the opportunity to fully develop their feud.

“I can just be thankful that, talk about something topical since ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is pretty big right now. A torn tricep takes about three, four months to recover from. Thankfully, Punk is, when it comes to recovering, the opposite of Wolverine [laughs]. It allowed me to really take this story all the way.”
