The 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, Canada saw John Cena announce his impending retirement as professional wrestler. His tour won’t begin until next year but it appears Cena wants Jelly Roll as his tag team partner in Nashville.
The former WWE Champion announced his plans to be present when RAW moves to Netflix. He also revealed that the Royal Rumble, the Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025 will be his final wrestling appearances.
During the SummerSlam Premium Live Event, Jelly Roll had a memorable moment as he performed a massive chokeslam on Austin Theory who was simply mocking him throughout their interaction.
John Cena was clearly impressed by what he saw, as he took to Twitter and shared his enthusiasm for Jelly Roll, stating that he has listened to Jelly Roll’s music and spent some time with him. Cena mentioned that Jelly Roll would be an excellent choice for a tag team partner whenever WWE comes to Nashville. Cena also declared that “Jelly Roll’s time is now” and tagged Jelly Roll in his tweet, pointing out his excitement about the tag team.

We have also reported that WWE is already considering opponents for John Cena. It remains to be seen how Cena’s retirement tour will turn out, as fans might enjoy seeing him and Jelly Roll team up inside the WWE ring.
