WWE’s announce team is set to welcome a fresh voice with a familiar sound. The company has confirmed that Joe Tessitore, renowned for his dynamic presence on ESPN, will be joining the WWE commentary lineup this summer as a play-by-play commentator.

Initially rumored to be headed to SmackDown, Michael Cole, during the Countdown to SummerSlam show, set the record straight—Tessitore will be taking his talents to Monday Night RAW.

Starting September 2nd, Tessitore will make his debut on RAW in Denver, Colorado. This shift coincides with Michael Cole’s transition to SmackDown, a move precipitated by Pat McAfee’s new role with College GameDay. The reshuffling will see Michael Cole team up with Wade Barrett on SmackDown, while Joe Tessitore pairs with Corey Graves to bring the action on RAW to life.

Joe Tessitore is no stranger to the limelight, having led ESPN’s coverage of Monday Night Football, along with calling NFL Pro Bowl and Wildcard Playoff games on ABC. His foray into entertainment, including working with Rob Riggle and Stephen Curry on the comedy competition show Holey Moley, showcases his versatility and charisma—traits that will undoubtedly enrich his WWE commentary.
