WWE SummerSlam 2024 kicked off with an electrifying match as Liv Morgan defended her WWE Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley, with Dominik Mysterio in her corner.
The match began with Liv Morgan evading Ripley, but the chase was brief. Morgan seized an opportunity, injuring Ripley’s shoulder by sending her into the turnbuckle. Despite the pain, The Eradicator continued the match after resetting her shoulder against the announce table.
As the match approached its end, Liv Morgan introduced a chair, but Ripley kicked it away. As Ripley attempted to use the chair, Dominik intervened to avoid disqualification. Morgan then hit Ripley with an Oblivion for a near fall. With Dominik distracting the referee, Morgan used the chair to deliver another Oblivion, securing the victory.
After the match, Dominik shocked everyone by kissing Liv Morgan, confirming his betrayal. The two left together, leaving a devastated Ripley in the ring. In a video released by WWE on Instagram, Rhea Ripley was seen walking visibly in tears to the backstage area after witnessing her Latino Heat betray her and walk away with her heated rival.

With Rhea Ripley devastated at the sight of Dominik Mysterio’s shocking betrayal, we will have to wait and see how Mami chooses to retaliate and get her revenge on him and Liv Morgan, who is still in possession of the WWE Women’s World Title Rhea never lost.
