Logan Paul’s surprising success in professional wrestling, particularly his current reign as the United States Champion, has certainly caught fans off guard. With that said, Paul has admitted that he felt there was a feeling of resentment towards him in the WWE locker room after he started getting success in WWE.
The Maverick captured the United States Championship by defeating Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel last year. Since then, he has defended his title on just two occasions and fans felt he never deserved to become the champion. He is currently WWE’s third-longest reigning US Champion as well.
While speaking to Jackie Redmond, Logan Paul revealed that the WWE locker room received him horribly after he started getting success in WWE. he reflected on his experience in the WWE locker room, describing it as negative overall. He acknowledged that he received respect from certain individuals, such as Randy Orton, The Miz, and even Roman Reigns, who welcomed him warmly.
However, he sensed a level of resentment from the rest of the locker room. Paul recognized that, as someone new who was not immediately part of the locker room dynamics and had his own private space, he might have appeared to be an outsider who hadn’t earned his place. He attributed some of this resentment to his prior accomplishments and his drive to outwork everyone in the industry, which might have been frustrating for others to see, especially given his access to perks like a green room.
”Horribly, across the board. You had the occasional semblance of respect from people that I respected, like Randy Orton who respected me and accepted me with open arms, The Miz, even Roman was just so kind to me. I think there was a level of resentment the locker room had for me and why would they not, I’m not in the locker room, I’m in my big ass green room, I just got here. In their eyes what had I done to deserve that? The answer is everyone I had done before getting to the WWE. I will outwork everyone in this industry, I think they know that and it would suck to see an outsider like me to come in and do your job just as good as you if not better and get the green room.”
Logan Paul also couldn’t care less about the lack of title defenses he has had as the champion. Regardless, Paul is scheduled to defend his United States Championship against LA Knight at SummerSlam on August 3rd. It remains to be seen whether Knight will be the one to finally dethrone him, as the WWE locker room might want to see him lose as well.
