Bron Breakker is making strides in the professional wrestling world, recently joining the main roster. However, WWE has chosen not to leverage his legitimate Steiner family connection by using his family name. Breakker has now revealed why he isn’t using the Steiner name in WWE.

Fans have shown enthusiastic support for Bron Breakker taking on the Steiner name, believing it would enhance his legacy. There’s also a push to involve his father, Rick, and uncle, Scott, in storylines to further elevate his career.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Bron Breakker was asked if there was a conversation when he joined WWE for his last name to be Steiner. Breakker explained that his decision to be known as Bron Breakker was a conscious choice to establish his own identity rather than rely on his Steiner heritage.

While he respects the Steiners and pays homage through his gear and move set, he wanted to carve out his own path and become his own individual. Despite acknowledging his connections to the Steiners, Breakker’s goal was to pursue his own career trajectory and stand apart as his own person.

“Yeah, it’s just something I chose to do, to be Bron Breakker. This is something I wanted. I kind of wanted to go my own way because I knew it was super easy for me to lean into being a Steiner. I just wanted to carve my own path and be my own guy. So, I show my respects and salutes to the Steiners and everything, with my gear, my move set sometimes, or just whatever. But yeah, I just wanted to go my own way.”

Bron Breakker is set to challenge Sami Zayn for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam on August 3rd, so we’ll have to see if he will be able to pick up the win finally, as fans would love to see that happen.
