It’s Friday, and you know what that means! WWE SummerSlam Kickoff Press Show will go down later today from in front of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, and Ringside News has got you covered with all of the event’s proceedings.

WWE SummerSlam Kickoff Press Show Lineup (8/2/2024):

  • The event will be hosted by Monday Night RAW commentators Michael Cole and Pat McAfee
  • WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque will provide breaking news and updates on SummerSlam
  • Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre and CM Punk are set to make an appearance
  • WWE World Heavyweight Champion “El Campeon” Damian Priest, 2024 WWE King of the Ring “The Ring General” GUNTHER, WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Seth “Freakin” Rollins are set to make an appearance as well

WWE SummerSlam Kickoff Press Show Results (8/2/2024):

The show opens up with shots of the city of Cleveland as well as shots of where SummerSlam will take place. We then get a video package of SummerSlam. Michael Cole then welcomes us to the show and says this is the second time the city has hosted SummerSlam and the 37th annual SummerSlam PLE. Cole then introduces his RAW broadcast partner Pat McAfee and McAfee makes his way out.

McAfee then says Michael Cole is looking as handsome as ever, but he is not the man of the hour. McAfee then introduces the host of WWE SummerSlam The Miz and The Miz makes his way out and plays to the crowd. The Miz says Cleveland is awesome and Cleveland deserves SummerSlam. The Miz then says he wouldn’t be where he is without Cleveland. The Miz then says he has been beaten up in Cleveland and his father has been beaten up in Cleveland as well.

The Miz then tells the fans to give WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque the biggest Cleveland welcome ever and he introduces Triple H. Triple H then makes his way out and the fans chant for him.

Triple H then asks Cleveland if they are ready and they ask him to spit some water. Triple H and Pat McAfee then spit some water today and the fans chant “Holy S**t.” Triple H then asks the fans if they read the article on Michael Cole today and Cole is the best in the business today. Triple H then says tomorrow they will rock Cleveland and asks the fans if they are ready. Michael Cole then apologizes for spitting on the crowd and shots of the SummerSlam superstore is shown.

WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan’s music then hits and Morgan makes her way out. Morgan says she needed to come out and clear a little bit of air. Morgan then says one year ago she sat in a hospital and everything was gone. Morgan then talks about how her revenge tour started and says that is her queue to leave, then leaves when Cole says she was supposed to be out there 15 minutes later with Rhea Ripley.

We then get a video package on the WWE World Heavyweight Champion “El Campeon” Damian Priest vs. 2024 WWE King of the Ring “The Ring General” GUNTHER match for SummerSlam.

McAfee and Cole then describe GUNTHER and Cole introduces GUNTHER and the 2024 WWE King of the Ring makes his way out. McAfee then asks GUNTHER if he thinks he went too far with their feud and GUNTHER says he needs to do that with his opponent. GUNTHER then says he is not afraid to speak the truth and points out what is there. GUNTHER then calls Cleveland street trash and McAfee says Cleveland is a good city with great people. Cole then asks GUNTHER about his Intercontinental Title reign and what he will be if he wins the World Heavyweight Title and the fans starts to chant for Damian Priest. Cole and McAfee then asks GUNTHER how he will represent WWE as the World Champion and GUNTHER says it is inevitable to happen and tells the crowd to welcome the new World Champion.

Cole then introduces WWE World Heavyweight Champion “El Campeon” Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley and they make their way out. Cole then asks Priest about the premier of his documentary and he says GUNTHER ran out of there and Ripley says Morgan ran out of there as well. Priest then talks about his documentary and the fans chant “You Deserve It” to Priest. Priest then says GUNTHER is human trash and he is proud to be street trash. Cole then asks where Dominik is and Morgan says he told him to not be there. McAfee then asks about Morgan taking everything from Ripley and Ripley says she will bring the brutality and she loves her Dirty Dom. Ripley then says Jey Uso is alright too when the fans chant “Yeet”. Ripley then says Mami will walk into SummerSlam without her championship, but she will walk out as the new Women’s World Champion and Cole wishes Ripley and Priest good luck for SummerSlam.

We then get a video package on the CM Punk vs. “Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre match for SummerSlam, with Seth “Freakin” Rollins as the special guest referee.

Cole then introduces Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Rollins makes his way out, with the fans singing his song. Cole then says for the first time in his career Rollins will be a special guest referee and Rollins says he will make it look good. Rollins then says he hates both Punk and McIntyre and can’t wait to see them tear each other apart at SummerSlam. Rollins then says tomorrow we will see a clear winner between Punk and McIntyre and Cole asks about how Rollins says he will lay his hands on Punk when Punk is cleared. Rollins then says he will enjoy it when someone else like McIntyre beats up Punk for him. Cole then introduces CM Punk and Punk makes his way out. Punk says is it great to be alive on a Friday night in Cleveland. Punk then says he will deal with Rollins if Rollins screws him at SummerSlam. Punk then says he will show a level of violence that will make people very uncomfortable. Punk then says McIntyre’s dream is to be champion and his dream is to make sure McIntyre will not be a champion. The crowd then chants for Larry and AJ Lee. Punk then says Drew started it and he will finish it and tomorrow McIntyre will be the victim.

Cole then introduces McIntyre and McIntyre makes his way out. Cole then asks McIntyre why he is obsessed with CM Punk and Punk says McIntyre is a fan of his. McIntyre then says their match at SummerSlam should be the main event and he can stand Punk and the ground Punk walks on. McIntyre then says Punk screwed him many times in the past and present and tomorrow he will kill Punk. McIntyre then talks about how Punk has been injured, while he has been competing with the best stars. McIntyre then tells Rollins that he will have to stop the match tomorrow because of what he will do with Punk. McIntyre then says he will break Punk’s jaw and Rollins will come out in a ridiculous outfit. McIntyre then says everyone is against him right now and he can block all the CM Punk chants. McIntyre then says he appreciates all of the bands everyone has been giving him and how the only thing matters to him is the names of Larry and AJ Lee. Punk and McIntyre then have a face-to-face and Rollins laughs. Punk then says SummerSlam is not the only biggest party of the summer, but it will be Drew McIntyre’s funeral. Cole then says goodnight to the fans and the show comes to a close.
