TNA Wrestling held their Slammiversary event on July 20, and the show concluded with several significant developments. Notably, Nic Nemeth captured the TNA World Title, marking a major achievement for the former Dolph Ziggler. With the event in the rear view mirror, we have a clearer picture of the pay-per-view buys.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the week two update for TNA Slammiversary shows 4,000 buys, representing a 260.9 percent increase compared to Rebellion at the same time, which had around 1,100 buys. TNA Rebellion 2024 took place on April 20, 2024, at the Palms Casino Resort in Paradise, Nevada. This indicates that the WWE crossover had a substantial impact.

WWE’s NXT brand and TNA Wrestling have been sharing some talent in recent memory. Jordynne Grace, Joe Hendry, Ash by Elegance, and The Rascalz have all made appearances in NXT. The black and gold brand has also sent a few of their stars to TNA wrestling, including No Quarter Catch Crew and Wes Lee.

The estimated total for the Slammiversary event is currently 13,000, with expectations for further growth in the next two weeks. Although this figure does not match January 13th’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view, it is still considered a success.

The TNA pay-per-view audience represents a small fraction of those who watch other wrestling promotions. However, there is notable crossover among TNA buyers themselves. Since many WWE viewers use Peacock, it is unclear how many TNA viewers also watch WWE pay-per-views. For AEW, about 27 percent of Slammiversary buyers also purchased Forbidden Door, highlighting a significant overlap.

We will continue to closely monitor this story and other developments in the pro wrestling world. TNA Wrestling’s Slammiversary pay-per-view has garnered considerable attention, and it remains to be seen where future headlines will emerge from.
