Cody Rhodes triumphed over Roman Reigns to secure the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event at WrestleMania 40 Night 2. However, The Rock had pinned Rhodes in a tag team match featuring Reigns and Seth Rollins the previous night.

Following The Show of Shows, on the RAW After WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes and The Rock had a tense face-to-face confrontation before he left for his hiatus, hinting at a potential singles match.

In a recent interview with ESPN, The Prodigal Son discussed his upcoming match against Solo Sikoa. Rhodes stated that the road to SummerSlam has been similar to WrestleMania and was looking forward to defeating the man who is pretending to be The Tribal Chief.

“This – hopefully, in an entertaining way – is a bit of a repeat of what we got at WrestleMania. I defeated the Tribal Chief, the true Tribal Chief, that being Roman Reigns. I look to defeat the pretender, Solo Sikoa, at SummerSlam.”

Furthermore, Cody Rhodes turned his attention to The Rock, claiming that it would happen the same to him if he claimed the moniker of The Tribal Chief next.

“If you’re also someone in The Bloodline, perhaps named The Rock, I hope you will be watching because if you claim the Tribal Chief mantle next, [the] same thing will happen to you.”

Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa are set to collide in the main event of SummerSlam, so we will have to wait and see if Rhodes manages to overcome Sikoa and continue his road as the champion who could cross paths with The Rock in the future.
