WWE is a global company, and it’s only gotten bigger after Endeavor merged it with the UFC. They attract attention from a wide range of sports. While the WWE Universe is devoted to professional wrestling and closely follows the company’s activities, they are also well aware of the immense popularity of Manchester City’s football team.
As part of their ongoing collaboration, several Manchester City football players trained at the WWE Performance Center today. This partnership began with WWE teaming up with Manchester City to release a series of crossover t-shirts featuring both brands, highlighting the connection between the two organizations.
Today, the collaboration continued with several Manchester City players visiting the WWE Performance Center. They participated in training sessions in the facility and in the ring with various NXT talents.
Five City players, including former England international Kalvin Phillips and Rico Lewis, trained with NXT trainer Robbie Brookside and referee Chip Danning. NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, North American Champion Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Thea Hail, and Stevie Turner were also on hand for the special guests.
It will be interesting to see if more stars from the football world visit WWE in the future. The company’s appeal might lead to further crossover opportunities. After all, the WWE locker room is filled with Superstars who have backgrounds in various sports.
