Trish Stratus Reveals Concussion from WWE Payback 2023 Steel Cage Match

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus engaged in an unexpected and extended program against Becky Lynch earlier last year, which surprised fans. However, it appears she has admitted that she was concussed after the steel cage match.

Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus’ feud took over WWE television for several months and it ended at WWE Payback, where they faced off against each other in steel cage match. Stratus would lose the match, which ended up being the last match of her run with the company as an in-ring competitor for the time being.

While speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Trish Stratus was asked about the viral moment where she told a fan to shut up before her match with Becky Lynch at Payback last year. Trish Stratus described her experience as feeling like an out-of-body experience. She said she wasn’t herself but rather the character of Trish Stratus who was ready to compete fiercely in the cage match.

Stratus explained that after the match, her team mentioned that a moment with a fan was going viral. Stratus was confused and had no memory of the incident because she was concussed after the match and couldn’t recall anything from that time. She admitted that she didn’t think anyone even knew she was concussed after the match.

“I honestly felt like it was an out-of-body experience. I wasn’t me; I was Trish Stratus, and she was about to beat some ass in a cage match. That’s who came to the ring. Afterwards, my team told me, ‘That moment with the fan is going viral.’ I was like, ‘What moment?’ They said, ‘Before you went in, when you talked to that fan.’ I had zero recollection of that. First of all, I was concussed—I don’t know if anybody knows that—but I was concussed after that cage match, so I didn’t remember anything anyway.”

Trish Stratus recently came back before Money in the Bank for a couple of appearances but nothing substantial and she also teased a surprise appearance ahead of SummerSlam this week. Regardless, it is shocking to know that Stratus suffered a concussion but it just goes to show she was determined to finish her match with Lynch no matter what.
