Bryan Danielson, recognized as one of the top professional wrestlers globally, is set to retire from active competition this year. He has openly discussed ongoing issues with his neck and has made a significant stipulation for his upcoming match at AEW All In. In light of his announcement, the severity of his neck issues has come to light.

Bryan Danielson has been dealing with neck injuries in recent months. In May, he disclosed that doctors had advised him he would soon need surgery, and by June, he mentioned that his neck was still in poor condition.

Despite these issues, Danielson is set to challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at AEW All In. In fact, Danielson put his career on the line against Strickland at All In.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Danielson putting his career on the line and stated that much of the buildup is a work. He mentioned that Danielson is portrayed as putting his career on the line, and this is part of the storyline involving him and Tony Khan.

Meltzer suggested that while Danielson’s neck injury is real, it might also be exaggerated for the storyline. He noted that if the injury were truly severe, Danielson wouldn’t be scheduled to wrestle Jeff Jarrett next week but would be resting for his big match with Swerve.

“So much of the buildup for this is obviously a work. Now he cares so much that he’s putting his career on the line. He and Tony Khan have a storyline. His neck is bad but I also think that’s a lot of storyline. I mean, if it was so bad, he wouldn’t be wrestling Jeff Jarrett next week. He would be resting up for the big match with Swerve.”

Bryan Danielson also revealed why he didn’t compete in the G1 Climax tournament this year. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether Danielson will end up beating Swerve Strickland at All In, as his neck issues don’t seem to be as serious as portrayed in the storyline.
