Ricky Starks has been a prominent name in AEW since 2020, but he’s been noticeably absent from television for a while now. Despite not being seen in the ring, Starks stays active on social media. Recently, he faced accusations of being against AEW after asking about Shane McMahon

Starks’ last appearance on AEW television was on the March 30 episode of AEW Collision, where he competed in a tag team title tournament match alongside Big Bill against Top Flight. Since then, Starks has been notably missing from AEW programming.

On Monday, July 29, 2024, AEW President Tony Khan and Shane McMahon held a private meeting at an office near Arlington airport. This first face-to-face encounter, which followed Khan’s previous interest in meeting McMahon, has sparked speculation about possible collaborations between the two. Their discussion centered on “possibilities moving forward.”

Recently, Ricky Starks took to Twitter and asked if Shane McMahon’s music hit on AEW Dynamite. This led to one AEW fan blasting Ricky Starks for the question. After Starks asked what was wrong with the question, the fan accused Ricky Starks of being against AEW and also told him to run to NXT.

”Starks I truly respect you as a talent. Maybe I’m skewed by the “tribalism” but I truly think If you’re not truly with AEW you’re against us. A prominent startup facing a juggernaut does not need a top potential building block being a tweener playing both sides”

This led to a response from Ricky Starks, who gave a very diplomatic reply and made it clear he was simply joking around. He added that he didn’t think asking about Shane McMahon was putting AEW down.

”I appreciate your opinion and even reply but I was trying to figure out why the tweet was “wrong” when I was just joking around. Didn’t think me asking was putting the company down”

It is to be noted that all the tweets have since been deleted. We have also reported that Ricky Starks is currently dealing with backstage heat in AEW. Regardless, we’ll have to see what will become of The Absolute One in the end, but many people feel some AEW fans simply take things too far.
