John Cena was on his longest WWE run in over six years back in 2023, as fans were just happy to see him on WWE television every week. That run more or less ended after Crown Jewel and it appears WWE has now released footage of a never-before-seen match featuring Cena from last year.

During the SAG-AFTRA Hollywood strike, John Cena shifted his focus back to professional wrestling. He made near-full-time appearances for WWE in September and October, leading up to his loss to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel in November 2023.

WWE’s Vault YouTube channel has recently released a video from a dark match following the September 29, 2023 edition of SmackDown. The clip features John Cena facing off against Dominik Mysterio, who was the NXT North American Champion at the time. The match was a non-title bout, showcasing a confrontation between Cena and Mysterio.

John Cena previously announced his upcoming retirement from professional wrestling, as he will begin his retirement tour next year and it will end in December 2025. We have also reported that WWE is already considering opponents for John Cena as well.
