Mercedes Mone Advocates for AEW Women’s Division Behind Closed Doors

Mercedes Mone’s arrival in AEW has significantly reshaped the promotion’s landscape. As the TBS Champion as well as the NJPW Women’s Strong Champion, there is no doubt that the AEW women’s division has seen more focus. In fact, it has been stated that Mone advocates for the women’s division behind closed doors.

It was previously reported that Mercedes Mone is the highest paid women’s wrestler in the business right now. There are quite a few fans who feel Mone is worth the price considering how much the AEW women’s division has improved since her arrival.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo, Willow Nightingale praised Mercedes Mone for her strong support of AEW’s women’s division. Nightingale noted that Mone has been instrumental in advocating for increased screen time for women wrestlers, citing observations that since Mone’s arrival, the women’s division has seen more visibility.

Nightingale appreciates Mone’s role as a cheerleader for the entire division, highlighting how her leadership and efforts have contributed to progress in AEW. She expressed enthusiasm about Mone’s impact, calling it “sick as hell.”

“[Mercedes] is very pro-AEW, women’s division, and helps push us forward. I’ve seen people write down the data, ‘Since Mercedes got here, you can see how much more time the women have on-screen.’ At the end of the day, she’s a cheerleader for us all. I appreciate that. We’re all pushing forward together. For her to take the helm and help us get that, I think it’s sick as hell.”

With that said, a former WWE personality also claimed that Mercedes Mone was never able to back up her arrogance. Nonetheless, the AEW women’s division is clearly flourishing right now and that’s all that truly matters.
