WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg remains a free agent after his WWE contract expired last year and since then, quite a few people have called him out for a match. Even MJF threatened to beat him up last year and now Goldberg has addressed the same.
The former WWE Universal Champion last competed in 2022, facing Roman Reigns at the WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, where he was defeated. During this time, his son Gage was also involved in some of his storylines. Despite the loss, he made it clear he was not retiring.
If you were not aware, when rumors of Goldberg heading to AEW were running rampant, MJF took to Twitter and threatened to beat up Goldberg, even going so far as to call him a ‘roided jew.’
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on the Insight podcast, Goldberg was asked about his thoughts on MJF, notably paving the way for other Jews in pro wrestling. The WWE Hall of Famer addressed MJF threatening to beat him up, as Goldberg acknowledged that it was him being in character and it was somewhat of a promo. Goldberg then made it clear he was actually proud of the former AEW World Champion.
“Yeah, the respect that he didn’t show me in one little promo thing but I get it. It’s in character. But I’m proud that he has treated his career as such, very much so. Because, you know, it’s not the normal path and you’re gonna get resistant.”
Goldberg even admitted that he hid his torn rotator cuff injury throughout his second run in WWE. Regardless, it is good to know that Goldberg took MJF’s comments in good faith and is otherwise proud of MJF’s accomplishments and that’s all that matters.
