The landscape of the AEW women’s division has completely been altered with the arrival of popular wrestling Kamille. On the July 24th episode of AEW Dynamite, Kamille made a dramatic return by attacking Britt Baker and aligning herself with TBS and NJPW Strong Champion Mercedes Mone.
The former NWA World Women’s Champion had previously appeared on AEW Dynamite in 2021 and officially signed with AEW in February. However, she reached out to AEW commentator and veteran Jim Ross before making her return.
On the recent episode of his podcast, Grilling JR, Jim Ross revealed that Kamille reached out to him last month for advice and other similar things. Ross gave her the same advice he gives to others: to be prepared for your role physically and mentally and make the most of every opportunity given to you.
Furthermore, JR credited her first appearance on Dynamite and overall personality, calling her a good hire for AEW.
They got plans for her. She’s got a great look. I’ve been texting with her in the last month a few times. She’s reached out, just for advice and things of that nature. My advice to all the talent is pretty much all the same. Don’t be late. Be prepared, mentally and physically, for your role that particular night. Look at every opportunity as just that, an opportunity to get exposure. She got good exposure on Wednesday night, I thought, and she dresses up that roster because she’s got such a good look, so athletic. So I think that’s nice addition. I think that’s a good hire.”
With Kamille siding as the muscle of The CEO Mercedes Mone, we will have to wait and see if she plays a decisive role in Mone’s upcoming TBS Championship match against Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D, at AEW All-In taking place next month at Wembley Stadium.
What are your thoughts on Jim Ross’ advice to Kamille after she reached out to him before signing with AEW? Do you think she could be a top star of the women’s division? Sound off in the comments!
