The pro wrestling world is always full of contract news, and certain talents could really shake things up if they landed in another company. It appears that WWE will soon have their chance to make a play for Penta if he doesn’t come to a new agreement with AEW.
Since All Elite Wrestling’s early days, Penta has been a big part of the company. He entered AEW after gaining momentum in Lucha Underground, MLW, and Impact Wrestling, often appearing for all three shows at the same time and airing multiple matches a week.
Sean Ross Sapp has reported on Fightful Select that Penta’s AEW contract is set to expire this year, and WWE has shown interest in him. However, he’s not the only one, as his Lucha Bros. teammate Rey Fenix also sees his contract expire this year. The exact expiration dates for their contracts have not been nailed down yet.
It was further reported that AEW wants to retain Fenix and Penta and there were offers extended and contract talks. There is no current word about how those talks have been. Fenix, much like Penta, is expected to have interest from WWE. Both men have been with All Elite Wrestling since 2019, and they had a nice run as 2/3 of the Death Triangle faction alongside Pac.
We will have to see what happens with Penta. He could be a big get for WWE, and Triple H may be able to take his name and make it an even bigger one. That mask could also be a very marketable aspect of his character. Only time will tell what happens, but WWE has its eye on him right now.
